It's a common misconception that the Gregorian calender runs out in 2012. In truth, it's the Mayan calender which states that the Third Age will end then and the Earth will enter the Fourth Age.
What that means for humankind is anyone's guess, except for the Mayans. Their empire crumbled ages ago.

I guess the reference you are referring to is the Jewish Year 6000, which according to some corrections may be 2012, but none of this makes since because the Flood should have occurred about 3500BC, appx. 500 years before Abraham (which we know lived around 3000BC when Egypt had just become a civiliztion as documented in the Bible and Egyptian texts) according to the generations of Shem, one of Noah's sons. Then if you work back from Noah to Adam it's more than 1500 years. That would set the Creation before 5000BC, that would mean the Jewish calendar is at least 1000 years off.
Now if you were to believe something like the year 7777 from the Creation was something special, maybe we are approaching that time, but it doesn't matter because no man can know the date (without randomly guessing).
Matthew 24:36
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
The link at the bottom has some interesting facts/assumptions about the year 2012 acoording to various religious and scientific groups.

LOL WHERE, pray tell, have you gained THIS little morsel of information from!?
The calendar system changed a few times since then, my friend.
It's the MAYAN calendar that 'stops' at that date. And when I say 'stops', I mean resets, like 1999 becomes 2000, you dig?
Rest assured, life WILL continue. If nothing else, the Mayan system is the most accurate to date(no pun) and it doesn't actually cease until around 4775ad. I doubt we'll be around to judge the consequences by then.
There certainly will be some strange things happening in 2012 though, just type that date into a search engine along with 'sunspots' and read what you get from the scientific observations on the Sun...! Freaky.
(don't be so gullible - try cross-referencing everything you read on the net before you believe it and look a fool)
;)
I'd love to see where you got your info from too, zac_trades_csps...90%, eh? lol

Republicans don't give a care about global warming because they are smart enough to listen to the majority of the scientists. Did you know 90% of scientists don't think global warming is currently happening? And 90% of those scientists don't think it will EVER happen.
Yet so many common folk believe it happens. That just goes to show you how big of an influence the media has on the society, right or wrong.

Maybe they were Jewish calendars, I know the Jewish calendar counts from when Moses delivered them out of Egypt, and all people during the time of Christ were Jewish, only after his death did Christianity form. Or maybe we're all going to die in 2012.

That would actually be the Mayan calendar, which as you hopefully know has nothing to do with Judeo-Christian teachings.

it may symbolize a 'rebirth' in human spirtuality and thinking....a 'new age'...yet it doesn't mean the END of the world because in the Bible no one knows the day that Jesus will return, but God the Father...

could you be more specific?
I have never heard of what your talking about.

For sure it is not a "date of the end", as no one knows but the father( even Jesus does not know).
