Coconut cake....you get a plain yellow cake mix, then after it comes out of the oven poke holes all in the top and pour 1 can of Eagle Brand (sweetened condensed) milk over the holes so that they sink into the cake and make it moist & scrumptious! After it's cooled, spread cool whip over it, and then put the coconut on the top. Very simple & TASTY!

I am making Red, White, and Blue berry desserts... buy an Angel Food cake from the grocery store's bakery and cut it into serving slices. Mix together fresh strawberries and blueberries, add a little sugar, and let them sit till they get all juicy. Spoon lots of juicy fruit over each slice of cake and top with whipped cream. I use homemade whipped cream, not cool whip. Beat whipping cream till stiff, adding powdered sugar and vanilla extract to taste.

Three Berry Pie
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup fresh strawberries, halved
1/2 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
2 cups raspberries
1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DIRECTIONS:
In a large mixing bowl, stir together sugar and cornstarch. Add strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries; gently toss until berries are coated. When using frozen fruit allow fruit mixture to stand for 15 to 30 minutes, or until fruit is partially thawed.
Line a 9 inch pie plate with half of the pastry. Stir berry mixture, and transfer to the crust lined pie plate. Top with second crust, and seal and crimp the edge. To prevent overbrowning, cover the edge of the pie with foil.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 25 minutes when using fresh fruit, 50 minutes for frozen fruit. Remove foil. Bake for an additional 20 to 30 minutes, or until the top is golden. Cool on a wire rack.

Haroset variations. I know it's not Passover and the people I'll be having a picnic with will not be Jewish. A branch of my health company is called Haroset, emphasizing Bible foods such as nuts, honey, raisins (grapes), dates, figs, other natural foods that do not contain meat. Many of our recipes contain no gluten, no lactose, definitely no sucrose or high-fructose corn syrup.

I invite you to look also at Hallelujah Acres and The Maker's Diet web pages. A friend at Naropa Institute recently published "If it's not food, don't eat it!"

Enjoy your fourth your own way!

if you want people to eat the dessert then please don't make jell-o cake it takes a little time to get a taste for it. what about strawberry shortcake concept made on either single biscuits or a large yellow cake with some blueberries as a topper on the whipped cream. MM sounds good to me
