Unless I'm wrong, christians and other such religions believe that life is a test to see whether you go to heaven or hell.

Well, even if it were true, what would be the point?

You can live on Earth or in heaven, what's it matter?

Also, don't the supposed gods already know everything? They know exactly how they made you, and since they are perfcet, they know that you can't turn out in any other way then they meant for you to turn out, sort of eliminating the idea of free will. So how is it a test if they already know whether or not you will go to heaven or hell. Also, since god knows how he made you, and if you go to hell, isn't it HIS fault? He knows exactly how he made you, and he knows that you'll go to hell, so why did he do it in the first place?

What's the point of this life if we just go to heaven or hell? This ife isn't a test to see if we're worthy or not becaue they already know if we're worthy...

None of it adds up...

If the supposed god already knows everything, then he knows the future. If the future is known, it can't turn out any other way.

If the future is finite, then there is no such thing as free will, because the suposed god made us to do exactly whatever we will do.

If, as someone said down there, that we are here to do god's will, then we are nothing but mindless pawns.

As I said, there is no such thing as free will if we were created by a god who knows the future.

You guys aren't getting me. You keep saying it's our choice to be with god etc. This life is preparation blah blah bla...

If god wants us to be in heaven, he would MAKE us in heaven. We aren't free.

If we needed prepration, he would make us with preparation

I am insinuating that, whether or not we were made by a god, or evolved over millions and millions of years, Life is still just as meaningless.

LOL, one person down there said that I was created to worship... If god were perfect, why is it that I am a defective unit?

Heaven and hell are on Earth, nowhere else. A few people are in heaven, while the rest of us have to suffer with our lives. Life is not a test, if so, many of us has failed.

If 'God' did create us, then he has creates sins. He has created us to hate and to hurt. Why worship something everyday, when you cannot see it? Why won't he reveal himself already? If 'Jesus' and such are our 'savior,' then why are they still letting innocent people die? Especially when they've barely had a chance at life.

The 'Bible' is an example. It says that homosexuailty is wrong or w/e, but as you said, he created us. It's his fault, he's the ones that created us. He has turned his people against one another. Many Christians hate homosexuals because homosexuality is 'wrong' because it 'says so' in the Bible.

Life isn't worth living if it's just a test.

Wow...you want to know it all.

First, if there is a God, we were given the freedom of choice. I don't believe God knows for sure what we will chose to do. Which ever god you want to believe in there are writings to teach us what is right vs wrong. (IE the Bible for Christians)

Anyway Heaven or Hell isn't how I live my life. I want to leave this world a better place than before I was born. If people that are around after I die say "He will be missed." that means my life had meaning. The best way to live every day is to treat others the way you want to be treated.

I believe in Islam. And Allah has created us for one purpose only - to worship Him. And we have to live as a good human being which includes treating every God's creature with kindness, doing good, etc.
You can say it is a test phase to see how well we do. Yes, it's true that God already knows the past and the future but that doesn't mean that He is controlling us to do good or bad.
We cannot completely understand Allah as we don't have the power to. Only He knows all the answers. I can understand why it seems silly but just take this life as temporary and work for the after life which will be permanent. Just like you make your kids work hard in school and college so that they can have a comfortable life. It's similar to that. :)

God made us to know Him, to Love Him and to serve Him in this life so we could be happy with Him in the next.

Life isn't a test....It is a preparation. God wants everyone to be with Him in Heaven forever....but he doesn't force this wonderful gift on us. We are free to accept it or reject it, and we make the choice many times every day through our actions.

He knows we aren't perfect, which is why we are blessed that He is merciful. All we need to do is try our best, admit our sins and be truly sorry for them, and try to avoid those sins in the future.

God doesn't choose hell for anyone- we choose it for ourselves.

God knows the future, but he doesn't force you to choose one way or another.

And no, our life on Earth isn't a test to see whether we are going to heaven or hell. We live on Earth to Worship God. That is why He made us & that is our purpose & if you are not doing it... well... then you've just failed your purpose.

You decide on what to do! It's important!

Well a Christian's "purpose" in life is to get God's message out there, and live according to "His" will.

Even if life is a test, who cares?

Life on earth is just the dressing room for eternity. And yes, it's worth it...In heaven, there's no pain...no sickeness...no parting...no unemployment...no annoyances...no stress...no 'death'...just God in the perfect paradise he intended for us to enjoy.

As for everything being "pre-ordained" --- to a certain extent, yes.
God has a plan for us; however: How many of us are actually living according to that plan 'exclusively'? "FREE WILL" is a reality and many 'choose' to disobey God ---- just because they can.

It's a round circle debate...

I'm very faithful and I don't give a damn where I go.
The heaven/hell concept is most popular among conservative, but many Christians are more concerned about learning how to be a good person in this life.

Good luck and God Bless!

Purpose? Good question. Who knows a thang unless God reveal it. When I was a child around five or six years old I used think about this question all the time. Why, what is the point of me living my life for Jesus and going to heaven. What next I asked myself. Whats after heaven. Has I grew older I was depressed for the unanswer of this question. The bible says "what is a man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet; " Psalms chapter eight. To recieve purpose for life and your specific purpose you must first reliise where life comes from. I believe in Jesus. Jesus is God. He made you. He made everything. And once you relise that. You relized the one who gives the house purpose is the one who owns it. Then we go on to well what is my purpose. Seek and you shall find. Knock and it shall be opened. Hungry and thirst after rightous and you shall be filled. To the pure Jesus will show himslef pure but to the forward he will show himself forward. You can not learn to divide fractions until you first learn your numbers. Faith to Faith Gorly to Glorly. I pray for God to answer you question and to give you the peace you are seeking for. He will. He is not a religion he is God. He is Jesus.

Our purpose on earth is to do God's will. I would like it if I ended up in Heaven. It makes me happy and content to know that I am doing no harm to others, intentionally anyway. That is my purpose and if I help someone else on the way, that is a bonus.

I think you have the right idea, you just may be asking the wrong question. Instead of, what is the purpose, ask yourself, is there a purpose? I struggled with a lot of the concepts you discuss. The answer I've come up with is that there is no higher purpose to our lives other than that which we define for ourselves.
