I just thought of the example of fictional Anakin Skywalker, aka Darth Vader, who turned evil (the 'dark side') as a young man but at the end of his life he saved Luke from the Emperor Palpatine.

My belief is that there is good and evil in every person. that is what keeps the balance of the world. Evil people choose to be evil and good people choose to be good and then there are those of us that choose to be pretty good and let a little evil out now and then if only in thoughts not deeds. I don't believe in Hell or the Devil so I don't think " the devil made me do it " is a viable excuse for anything. Our free will is what determines what the balance of good and evil and in a perfect world (yeah right) there would be both things in perfect balance.

Good and Evil are simply points of view applied by society.
For the question, the answer would be that there is a potential for both. It is merely a matter of interpreting the outcome.

How about this statement:
Christians are inherently Evil people for persecuting everyone who does not hold their belief in Jesus as well as killing believers of the prophet.
Now. Depending on which portion of society reads this statement, you will find greatly differing responses.
In Houston, Texas, I'm sure you'd expect a vicious response of how great God is and this is all lies. However, to someone in Tehran, Iran, I'm sure the response would be along the lines of 'Duh'. (sorry, I don't translate Iranian very well)

The fact is, Both would be right.

In the eyes of a redneck, our current wars are our version of holy wars against terrorists.
In contrast, a person in Iran might see our involvement a whole lot differently.
Either way, the perspectives are so very foreign to each other.

think about it...

Almost always there is Good and Evil in every person, although I would say that being Evil is easy and takes little effort, being Good takes greater effort, and is worthy of the rewards

To be Evil one must only think of themselves and there own selfish desires

To be Good one must think of not only others, and there feelings, and put a great importance to doing that which is right even if they are not recognized by others for it.

Each person must live with there own conscience, or lack of it, therefor the degree in which you place the importance of being a good person is totally up to the individual.

NO You cannot be balanced, you either Go with God, all the way, or you don't.
A truth can not be a truth if it contains any part of a lie.
So an evil person cannot be good, and a good person be evil.

There are no absolutely good people and absolutely bad people, it is only a matter of degree., both good and evil exist in everybody. If people frankly examine their thoughts and the actions they can find this.Further to know good you should know evil and to know evil you should know good. How can you know light unless you know darkness. So in the scheme of things, good, bad, pleasant, unpleasant. and other dualities are required. It is up to you to decide which is to be accepted and which is to be rejected

everyone is capable of one or the other, so if you were pure good, then you wouldn't be capable of evil, and since you are capable of evil then you must have a little in you

well, at least I know what i'm trying to say

The % of good has nothing to do with Going to Heaven. To enter on your own you have to score 100%.Otherwise you need Jesus.
