You know it's only going to cause tooth caries and diabetes. No wonder it's so incredibly cheap.

On the subject of diet soda...you are correct in suggesting that it is no better than regular soda. Actually considering it contains aspartame - a known neurotoxin - I would consider it to be an unhealthy alternative to regular soda. There has been much debate over aspartame - I suggest you read the wikipedia entry and make your own conclusions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspartame

Tessie - I'm trying to infer that soda does the body no significant positive improvement in any area except for the pleasure center of your brain. Rather I would like to add that soda *contributes* to tooth decay. And in fact I would like to say that yes, if you do develop a cavity in your teeth, you should blame excess sugar consumption and improper teeth hygiene.

Yes. But then I run Haroset, a Bible diet healthful food business. Look also at Hallelujah Acres and The Maker's Diet web pages.

You are right about price, unfortunately. Pseudofood (newly coined word by Kelly Hayforth, authoress of "If it's not food, don't eat it!") contains chemicals that have health side effects. Pay for better foods NOW or pay for health care costs for the rest of our lives.

BTW, I lobby the congress.

Pretty much...only an occasional Diet Pepsi, Coke, or Seven Up. In the summer time I drink Kool Aid usually with Nutra Sweet. Seems really hard for Americans to give up EVERYTHING that we know is not good for us!

are you claiming if I don't stop drinking soda I'll get cavities and diabetes? That's funny, cause I've gone for all 26 years of my life without getting a cavity...if I get one, should I blame soda?

feel the dripping sarcasm...

Yes I quit drinking soda and any drinks that are carbonated about 3 years ago. I was diagnosed with acid reflux, but since I quit drinking sodas and carbonated drinks I do not have any signs of acid reflux.

Every time I try, I always crave it again! So what I do is try to balance it out with water, or be proud for going a day without drinking it at all.

My family don't buy soda for our house because we know it isn't good for us, so when we go to town we drink soda. It's so hard to stop!
