Tyrone Power, as a young man, is hard to beat.
Most of the actors in his era, tended to be more, what is called, ruggedly handsome. However Tyrone Power was both handsome and a great actor.
Farley Granger, would be my next choice.
Then Clark Gable, in his heyday.
