yes powerpoint is handy but a lot of choices to be made and each pic needs a new slide to be inserted, sorry I don't have the link but if you take a look for screensaver slide show you will come across one that allows you to insert your pics and then it will also make it an .exe program to install on any machine.
maybe someone on here knows the link or name, but it does exist I used it to make promotional slideshow at IT center, it was very effective, and you can also add a powerpoint slide show to it if you choose.

Pinnacle has some good transition FX (the bit where one pic merges into another..
But Powerpoint, part of Microsoft Office....is by far the easiest and quickest, Just select NEW SLIDE, insert image..., Repeat and press F5...job done.

If you are using windows xp you should already have the option to view your images using the built in slide show. Set up your folders to show common tasks. Open folder go-to tools down to folder options. When you open your folders from then on all common tasks will be available on the left hand side of your folder.

try your windows movie maker (windows xp), is free, use pictures, videos or both, you can add titles and music, special effects and is really easy to use
