What makes human life so damn valuable? I don't understand why people think you should be locked up or executed if you kill a person and eat him/her, but we routinely do the same thing to animals in the wild.
And don't tell me that it's because animals don't have souls. The part of Genesis that talks about Noah's Ark says that animals all have the Breath of Life, the same thing that God put into Adam and Eve.

that's good question and i don't know. Maybe because of legal stuff. Like, if you can't speak or write or otherwise communicate, then yous assets and rights and stuff gets handed over to someone who's responsible for you. But since cockroaches can't communicate, any of them, then we kind of silently give responsibility for them to ourselves, collectively, and so we can do whatever we want.

That's just for cockroaches, though. I know some animals (dolphins, dogs, etc.) that can communicate with us, but people still kill and sometimes eat them.

It's because you humans think you're better than everything else.

Although we humans are part of the natural world, we have a unique position in it that makes us superior to all other beings. This is not a matter of physical size or strength, for on that scale of things we are only infinitesimal specks on a planet that is itself but a speck in the infinite reaches of the universe. Rather, the reason humans are regarded as the crown of creation is due entirely to our unique spiritual endowment. Humans have the ability, unparalleled in the natural world, to know God and to attain the transcendent purpose. In the special intimacy which we share with God, humans are potentially of more value than the entire world of creation. In this light, the bounty of creation has been regarded as a gift of divine love.http://www.emjc3.com/helland.htm

Because humans have a thought process that is on a completely different level than all other animals. Also, it's a part of nature to kill other species in order to survive.

Oh, and for the people who answer with reguard to their god or our souls, ask them for evidence. It's funny what they think evidence is.

because man was created in the image and likeness of God, so killing a human is attacking the image of God. it was the fall of man which marred the image, which is why man is no longer perfect and tends to do things such as kill one another.

Humanity is the crown jewel of God's creation - above all other created things.

A human has a soul. Roaches don't. There's the difference right there. God sent his son (Jesus) to die to save humans, not roaches.
