I was on ridalin as a child and it has given me permanent hypothyroidia. I have to take medication daily to keep my matabolism up. All of my involuntary body functions have slowed and it really left me feeling down and sluggish for a long time before they diagnosed me. Doctor said much longer and organs would start shutting down. I believe there is always something better for ADD than ridalin, and its not medication. Learn to meditate. Honestly, it may sound like homeopathic garbage, but true, practiced meditation will teach your body and mind to calm when you want them to. It takes practice, only took me a few days before I learned. Everyone should learn to meditate to some extend. Calming the mind and body on a daily basis other than just sleep is immeasureably helpful for all kinds of problems.

Anybody having ADD or ADHD should go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax. There won't be an immediate healing, but the self-healing power of the body and mind is boosted amazingly. Try it - I've done myself.
Just - the treatment is available in California and Europe only, costing approx. 220 dollars. It's really worth travelling far.

Ritalin is a stimulant, so it's not surprising that you have experienced increased heartbeat. However, you should also be careful. If you're feeling woozy, you should definitely talk to your doctor. Sometimes the dosage has to be adjusted several times before you get the desired effect. Also, it's sometimes necessary to change your medication altogether. Be careful and good luck!

No you shouldn't feel that way, and you should stop taking it if it's giving you heart palpitations. Go back to your doctor and get something else, there are so many to choose from these days. My nephew has ADHD and he switched medications 6 times before they found one that worked for him.

It will and I would get off of it and soon, and then see your doctor again and explain the effects, I'd also recommend staying off of any caffenated products, and eating a well-balanced diet, hopefully your doctor can find another substitute because what your heart is doing, try to bring your levels of stress down also.

With any medical condition your best bet is to contact the prescribing doc. Don't listen to what other's think. There are many medications for Attention Deficit Disorder. Ritilan is not the only one. Good luck.
