Very often, lung cancer is asymptomatic for a long time. One sign that physicians look for is "clubbing" of the nails of the hands, where they get rather plump and rounded. Often this is the ONLY sign of lung cancer, but it can also be found in many other pulmonary diseases, so don't jump to any conclusions should you have it.

In addition to a slight but persistent cought, recurrent hiccups may also be present, if the lung cancer starts centrally and is bothering the phrenic nerve
