nobody like watching individual sports except tennis.
because who are you going to root for?
it's gay if you're gonna pick one guy and be like "yayy go (boxer's name), you're my favorite boxer"

Well, I used to watch boxing religiously for about 5 years straight up until 2 years ago. And the reason for that is that i could no longer afford cable. And that is the downfall of the sport. It is not available to the masses. It is rarely if ever on broadcast TV. And that affects the popularity of the sport. Which affects the payouts. Which affects the quality of fighters. And that is probably why you don't see amazing talent in the sport anymore. There just isn't enough money to be made. Taking a pounding night in and night out is simply greuling. And a fighter must be properly compensated. Probably many fighters have either not entered or quit the sport due to low payouts. And another reason for the fall of boxing might be shady promoters. Lots of sharks out there looking to exploit fighters nowadays. And that is a shame for the fans. Also, the politics in boxing are notorious.

Boxing was killed by too many titles. There used to be one heavyweight champ, now there are champions for the WBA, WBC, WBO, and IBF leagues.
Now when people talk about "The Champ" you have to ask "Which one?"

Tell me about it. Why don't we have outstanding champions who ruled their respective divisions, put their stamp on that particular division to stand along side the other great champions of the past. Fight worthy contenders and only fight the best and if theirs a doubt he the fighter deserves another shot at the tile fight a rematch.

Because America now has so many things to distract it, it just doesn't have time for the boringness of sports (Woah there! I am not saying sports are boring, just so you know!). That's how stars are made, by people caring aboutthem. Nobody cares about sports, so there are no more superstars except to those of us that truly like them.
