do you know anyone with a child who is about he same age and is potty trained or very near? this would be great for your son to know. as long as all parents are okay with it have group potty training. my son was finally day potty trained at 4 years old, i told him that if he couldn't use the potty like a big boy than they wouldn't let him go to pre-school and that got him going. i had him night potty trained within 6 months of that because he was the only one in his class wearing pull-ups and i had to send him to school with pull-ups just in case. so when the other boys started comparing underwear he asked if he could wear his to school and i told him only if he could go all night dry for 2 weeks. and that was that.

potty training is just one of those things some kids are not ready for when you want them to be, normally they say just to let them take their time with that, but being that he is already 4 and will be going to school soon, he needs to be potty trained. so maybe find some ways of making is fun for him, like those new diapers that get cold when they have to go pee so they run to the bathroom, or the ones that have stars apear when they go pee. they even have potty training dolls for boys and girls that show them how to go pee. there are things out there that can help!

just when you think it will never happen, things change, if you havent noticed that already, shame on you. Just when you cant get up anymore they start sleeping through the night. When you can't possibly bottle feed em anymore, they start eating real food. When you are crazy because they crawl all over and wreck things they start walking. When you wonder how you will ever get through this chilhood thing, they start going to school. The next thing you know, graduating high school and out of the house. Cherish these moments, when they get older they might not even wanna walk next to you down the street.. It happens so fast. Have you ever ever ever seen a 7 year old in diapers? Of course not, you will figure it out. the future battles are much more challenging then peeeing in the toilet or the woods.

Four years old and not trained? This is a power struggle and you are losing. You're going to have to use some sort of reward and punishment system to get over this one.We used a long weekend in a city to get one of ours trained. Every bathroom we passed in he went while his brother did fun things. It didn't take long for him to figure out cooperation was more fun. Try having him stand exclusively for no.1 for a while as sitting promotes a rest.

You can always lock him in his room without pants and put down papers........kidding

Just don't give up on persuading him to go to the potty, make a distraction, anything that'll lead him to go to the potty.
