Any single guy must stay at the beginning of SUKHUMVIT road, near soi 4 where the action is.
If you can afford an expensive room go to LANDMARK hotel, more than 100 usd.
If you want it cheap but not so nice go to NANA hotel (just in front of the famous NANA PLAZA where the action is), less than 20 usd.
If you want it cheap but still nice, go to PB HOTEL, SOI 3, less than 20 usd.

Well. The Nana Hotel and Grace Hotel might be OK for a single man but they are shabby choices and not recommended. You can stay at a nice hotel around Sukhumvit and still have all the action closeby.

Good choices with excellent locations are:

1. The Marriott (NOT the Marriott Resort & Spa that is also in Bangkok)
2. The Landmark Hotel
3. The Sheraton Hotel
4. The Davis Hotel

All of the above are in central locations and very close to all the nightlife and other entertainment options. You can book these hotels at www.excelloz.com/Asia.html .

For Khaosarn area, there are Sawasdee Khaosarn, Sawasdee Banglumpoo, Viengtai Hotel. This is famous place for tourists as well. Clubs, Pubs, Bars are available.

All the hotels are good. If you want to make an impression, go for the 5-stars hotels in Bangkok. they are in prime location and you get classy girl friends from there. Have a go.

Check out Ambassador hotel, Nana Hotel (sleazy location but decent hotel), Park hotel, Manhattan Hotel - these are all about $35-$60/night and walking distance to go-go bars (Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza). For classier hotel check out Amari Boulevard, Sheraton Sukhumvit, JW Marriott, Westin hotel - these are also located nearby but cost about $100-$150/night. Best is to book online at asiarooms.com, thaihotels.com, passionasia.com or other on-line hotel places (in Asia). You pay upfront but its 1/2 price the standard rate.

*** Also - when you book the room - book it for 2 people. When you return to your room with a chick, some charge you 500 baht ($12) for guest charge - but if you paid for 2 guests it is waived. Usually 2 people rate is the same as 1 person. ***

Go to the area Sukumvit Road, Soi 4, and stay at the Nana Hotel, Dynasty Inn or Grace Hotel. That is the area where all the night action is.

Nana Hotel - www.nanahotel.co.th - Never have to leave the hotel (but you should). Enjoy the lobby, the "disco", the parking lot outside after 2:00 a.m., Nana Plaza across the street, and Sukhumvit Road just yards away.
