Many cruise lines have Jamaica as a port stop. You just have to look for the cruises, or have a travel agent do it for you. The travel agent services are free. If you go on a cruise that goes to Jamaica you will only have about 8 hours in Jamaica and then the ship moves on to the next stop. So if you want to spend some time in Jamaica, like three or four days or more, you need to forget the cruise and just look at a package to Jamaica for how ever long you want to be there. There are plenty of resorts that you can go go.

I personally prefer the cruise to just going to Jamaica. I think the cruise is more romantic. Cruises are one of THE best vacations you can take. Once you are on ship the staff caters to you, its whatever you want. There is something to do all day every day. Some ships have morning exercise programs, stretching and walking or you can pay for other things like Spinning in the gym. All cruise ships have gyms so you can go workout usually any time from 6:00 AM to late at night. There is usually a walking/running track on one of the decks also. Some ships leave the gym open all night. They call the gyms Spa because they do promote getting pampering thuff like wraps and massages with aromatherapy. They will also generally have abeauty salon to do hair and nails..

Ships have movie theaters, small but nice, and you can also see movies in your room. There are demonstrations on ship like ice carving, napkin folding and towel folding, cooking demonstrations.

Each day you will receive a "newsletter" listing the time, place and particulars of each event. You can schedule land tours and activities also during the day and evening when the ship is in port. There are generally shows every evening, one show for those with an early dinner seating and another (same show) for those who eat late. There is always food available. Usually there is a place in ship where you can go get something. Or, you can always just pick up the phone in your cabin and order from the room serviice menu (food is free). If you want, you can order breakfast room service.

There are places on ships to play board games and cocktail lounges that feature a variety of mucis. There is usually a disco that starts after 10:00 PM each night.

Then there is always the pools. Some ships have more than one and the newer ships generally have an indoor pool as well as outdoor ones and all of these have hot hots.

I suggest that you go to the web site for the cruise lines. I recommend a balcony cabin, or a suite, they are more relaxing and fun.

Keeping in mind that you're newlyweds and that you want to keep your cruising costs as economical as possible, here are some possibilities:

1- 7 Night Western Caribbean(Royal Caribbean). 2 Sept 2007 sailings; they start at $749/pp

2- 7 Night Western Caribbean(Royal Caribbean). 2 September 2007 sailings; they start at $699/pp

3- 5 night Western Caribbean(Carnival). 4 Sept 2007 sailings; they can be had starting at $329/pp

4- 7 night Western Caribbean(Carnival). September 9, 2007 sailing. Starts at $499/pp

All of these make stops at several Jamaican ports; there are no true "Jamaican cruises", so to speak. They simply stop at ports in Jamaica. Also keep in mind that these prices are unpublished prices(not available at the cruise lines' websites).

There are several good cruise lines and good ships within those cruise lines that travel to Jamaica. On each route though you will be in Jamaica for only one day. None of them offer overnights in Jamaica if you really want to spend alot of time there. The ports that they stop in can vary as well between Ocho Rios and Montego Bay.
