Yes, the eyes are the window to the soul. Could it be possible that you are mis-reading their eyes? Get a guy friend and talk to him one on one about it. See what he says....even have him do some things with his eyes, and see if you can "read" him correctly.....just for practice. Best of Luck to you!

Generally, a person's eyes will give away their true emotion moreso than their words...some people are quite good at controlling their facial expressions however, including their eyes, so it's not always a good indicator...but more often than not you can tell when a verbally expressed emotion or feeling, doesn't match what's showing on their face...

their eyes don't matter.

I should hope not! I've been told too many times that my eyes look empty and emotionless.

I think you can tell if someone is real or fake, honest or dishonest, or playing you, all by the eyes.
You can look at someone in the eyes and see if they are being fake with you
