A man of immature Christian faith goes to church, and sits impatiently, day dreaming of fishing. A spiritually mature Christian man goes fishing, and day dreams of God and what he can do to serve God better. Cheap psuedo-Christianity runs on guilt, fear, sin and is mind driven. Earnestly following Christ runs on truth, peace, and joy, and is Heart and Mind driven. True Christianity is a life style. Lazy Christianity is learned from a book and folk lore and never truly sought. We are all born spiritual as we are all created in the image of God.

You are confusing Christianity with intellectual atheism. That which you are calling spiritual is a part of Christianity and that which you are call Christianity is the basis for intellectual atheism. If you ever decide to read the New Testament, then I suggest that you read our Lord's Sermon on the Mount, Matthew chapters 5-7. This will give you a clear idea of what Christianity is. I agree that most people who call themselves Christians have no idea of what their faith is all about, and this is the fault of Pastors who play for the money and the applause and celebrity status, rather than teach and preach the Bible as I do. Most people do not want to go to church to hear about sin and death and repentance---they go for the entertainment or to promote their private business interests. God is watching and taking notes. He knows who is naughty and who is nice. To the naughty people he has a party for them to attend in hell where the fireworks and the fire will never cease. For the committed people---those that love him---he has a party also, one that will be filled with joy and wonder and will never end. Jesus loves you.

I'm a Christian and I ask the same question...going to church doesn't make you more spiritual unless you use it for that purpose. People go to church like they're punching a clock and filling a quota. All religions are full of hypocritical garbage that the believers perpetuate. I won't let another person tell me how I'm supposed to show my faith. And I'd much rather be thanking God for allowing me the means to be sitting on a boat fishing, instead of sitting in church waiting for my prize for being a good little boy.
P.S.-I think that spirituality IS a part of Christianity if the believer so desires.

The term Christianity, is referring to sharing your faith in God with others, It came about, after the apostles and deciples had preached to many, as Jesus had instructed them to do, I do not believe your definitian for christianity, It runs on love, and feeling protected by God, and when you believe in Jesus Christ you have the Holy spirit once you've confessed and been forgiven your sins, and then you are guided into an everlasting life with peace, joy, and love, and as far as folk lore, there are so many ways that the Bible has been proven time and time again, remember God can do everything, some parts of the Bible are spoken in parablyls also, so you have to have a full understanding.

The mind controls the body, not the body the mind.
The mind is reborn, not the body, the body perishes, but the reborn mind lives on.
The church could be a brick building where we go and park and dream , or the church could be a body of people where God lives in, and as far as i understand, that is where God lives, in His Son - today, as John 1 explains.Today is the day of salvation.
For some, Christ has already come, and for others still to come.
How else would one explain - seek ye first the Kingdom, and ...the Kingdom is within you ? I know of happy , good people , who are atheists, and are spiritualists as well.

Spirituality comes from the inside.
Religion comes second-hand from books and stories.
I agree that spirituality is the path I choose. There are more than a thousand (probably many more) religions and the leaders of them all say follow me I have the way to God... Not!
So I say none of them can be the way. The way is to be still and listen to your inner voice or inner guidance.
Religions do have their place however and help many people navigate through life on their journey home.
My God wants me to be happy and prosperous. My God is the only presence and power in the universe. My God resides within me, is omnipresent and is a part of me.
I am born free and innocent and I come from pure love.

Your example of a "christian man" is quite stilted and inaccurate. and your example of a "spiritual man" is more a specific case, than a general example based on a broad sampling of experiences.
Spiritualism doesn't "run on truth, peace joy, heart driven" to any greater degree than Christianity does. Your description of "spiritualism" is so broad and vague that it is meaningless. Christianity is a lifestyle, a philosophy a world view ( all those attributes equate to a RELIGION) that is learned by example, more than from " a book".
Please study more the areas you profess to be capable of discussing. THEN we can have a real, meaningful and beneficial dialogue.

That is a wonderful statement.
Every time someone of any religion, especially Christianity, disagrees with a question, they make statements about the questioner being on drugs.
It constantly amazes me! I would just love to keep going about the disease of hatred that is spread through the guise of being a
christian.....I don't think this any longer deserves a Capital C.
That imparts honor and respect, you get what you give.
Knowledge is everything. If you haven't researched the Bible, old and new testament, you have no right to be talking to people the way you do. Your God will send you straight to hell for that.
I'm so glad that my God is loving and forgiving and has no hell.
One true God, the God of LOVE!!!

There are as many reasons people go to Church as there are Church buildings in America. Some go to be seen in their fine clothes some go to give thanks to God. Some are carnal while others are spiritual.
You may be confusing "spiritual" with "spiritualism". A "spiritualist" talks to ghost and holds seances. A "spiritual" person need do neither.
I am a Spirit Filled Christan. That means that I am very "spiritual" and I derive my "spirituality" from the indwelling Holy Ghost of God Almighty. I am aware of this "spirit" and am constantly thankful for God allowing me to possess Him in my soul. Christians believe that without a belief in Jesus Christ as the Messiah ... the Son of God ... the Holy Ghost cannot be imparted to an individual.
There are 2,000 years of Christian history and 6,000 years of Jewish history and you probably are conversant in neither faith system.
If you don't belief this then so be it. EVERYONE GETS TO TEST THEIR OWN THEORY .... EVERY TIME.

I think the one thing that people get mistaken about Christianity is what the mere word "Christianity" means!
The word Christian means Christ LIKE!
Meaning that a person that is a true Christian is a person that only does what Christ would do.
......................................... Now !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........
It is fact that all people (in one way or another) have their own interest, and most of the TRUE Christians that I know of ENJOY sitting in church. WHY?! Because Christ ENJOYS and is pleased with THE TRUTH. But that doesn't mean that a being a "Christian" disallows you from going to the lake or pond and fishing and daydreaming of GOD.
BECAUSE I'M A "Christian" AND I GO FISHING AND DAYDREAM ABOUT GOD.
Spirituality doesn't denote that your worshiping Christ! People that are Muslims and Bhuddist consider themselves to be spiritual.
Christianity defines Christ and his likeness, it's a lifestyle and not a religion
