We are all atheists, you simply believe in one more god than I do. When you come to understand why you dis-believe in all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dis-believe in yours!
Please tell why you agree or disagree.

*To tslittleflower: You can call me both an atheist and an agnostic. I don't "know" if any god(s) exists, however, I do not "believe" that any god(s) exists. Thanks for the definitions of the words, but I have them already. ;-P

That is an interesting argument. I don't know about the everyone being atheists, as I think that is grammatically incorrect.
But yes, if one were to see why they do not believe in other gods, it would be easier for them to understand your viewpoint.
Faith is really a matter of faith, so you either have it or you don't. I was an atheist before I found the Baha'i faith (the harmony of science and religion was huge to me), so I understand where you are coming from. However, I think there are many arguments that actually fit both sides of the equation, such as the Progressive Creationism theory.

Um, Mr. Agnostic? "Agnostic" does not equal "atheist."
Atheist: a person who believes that there is no God
Agnostic: a person who believes that the human mind cannot know whether there is a God or an ultimate cause, or anything beyond material phenomena
So please clarify: are you atheist or agnostic? I have an agnostic friend. We get along great. We talk about ALL SORTS of stuff, including a TON of science (I LOVE science! Supersonic torpedoes...) He's even OK with discussing religion, and I enjoy talking about religion with him because he's well-educated AND doesn't go nuts when the subject comes up.
Peace be with you!

I disagree:
There is only one God! But different people in different geographical regions are taught to believe in God as their ancestors have seen God. The belief in what "God" has told us stems from common sense. What Jesus taught was just common sense. Love thy neighbor, be good to others, thyth-put money into a central coffer to help the needy , etc. Most all religions teach the same principals. They are central beliefs that if followed can make a scociety a happy and healthy one.
As Ive studied all the religions I kinda think that mabe , just mabe, God , Budda ,and all the rest are one God. We all were just raised in different cultures. But that is just a thought.

Disagree. You are not an Atheist if you believe in any power greater that yourself. If you believe in a god, but not MY God, then you are at the very least ,pagan.

(I am agnostic)
I don't think the statement "We are all atheists" really works, since AAAAtheist =
"Atheism, in its broadest sense, is the absence of theism (the belief in the existence of deities)."
So believing in even One Teeny Little God, screws up their Atheism, and they become Theists.
But everything else, reasonable.
Just that first part - kind of flawed by definition.

Yes, the bible could be a great work of fiction. I prefer Lord of the Rings. It was more exciting and made a better movie!

Since we're not born believing, I'd have to say religion is a matter of P.R. and gullibility.

i respect atheists as human beings, bt i doubt i can ever have a social relation (i.e.friendship) with any of them because of the different ways we see life.
