When you and him feel uncomfortable it is time to stop, I feel that way regardless of the parent and sex of child. In our house our bodies are not something shameful and somethingt hat we need to hide. We also do not use cutsie names for body parts, we do not have cookies and birds or pee pees or whatever people say, my two year old knows he has a penis. Children ask questions long before they are 5 about anything that is the same or diffrent than themelves so if yougo by the advice to stop when they ask questions or comment then you should have stopped when he started pointing, grabbing or asking at about a year or less. I know my son was only 10 mths when he said 'dat?' and pointed at my breast.

Why is this country so concerned about our nude body? It's not an icky thing.
We should not be ashamed about the difference between boys and girls. The June issue of Parenting Magazine that had a good article about explaining such things.
I agree that teenagers might be too old, but by then they'll think that's nerdy.

well my boys are 5, 2 and 9 mo. I don't let my 5 year old see me naked and it's getting close with the 2 year old so I would say 2-3 years. But it depends on how you feel I guess. Do you feel weird being naked around them, that's when I cover up. =)

A friend of mine still showers once in a while with her 4 year old son, and he's always asking why mommy doesn't have a penis like he does!
So.... I think he is way too old to be taking showers with her!
I think once they start to wonder about different body parts and such, then the kid is too old!

When they're about 2 or 3 and start staring or asking questions, then it's time to stop.
