Talk to your doctor about having a transplant where they take half of someone Else's liver and replace the most damage part of your brothers...and yes people can live on half a liver....You might wanna get tested...maybe you are the same blood type and can donate half of your liver or see about a liver transplant...it never hurts to find out the different possibilities...Now you may say why in the world would I give up half of my liver...it is simple...you don't want to see him die and since you are kin it is more likely that you are a match...but the real question is are you willing to give it up and help save your brother...How much would you do for your brother? I would give up half of my liver for my brother or sister or niece or nephews if I knew that it would save their life...

A transplant is only done if a patient has sever liver damage or in the end-stages of liver failure. Finding a liver transplant is the most simple to find. You can use a matching relative or a matching friend. Our liver regenerates, so the person donating a piece of his or her liver is not losing a liver--he or she is "sharing" a piece of it. A good friend of mine who received a liver transplant, found a liver donor with a week.

If you are blood relative and healthy then you could donate him part of your liver. Your liver would quickly regenerate the portion donated to your brother. This surgery is not without risks but it does move your brother to the front of the transplant line.
