"I know men and I tell you, Jesus Christ is no mere man. Between him and every other person in the world is no possible term of comparison. Alexander, Caesar, Charlmagne, and I have founded empires. But on what did we rest our genius? Upon Force. Jesus Christ founded his empire upon love; and at this hour, millions would die for him."--Napoleon Bonaparte

I like it. It shows Napoleon knew he was just a mere man in comparison to Jesus. I think a lot of rulers ie. kings, presidents, generals, (people of statue) think they are almost gods themselves and don't really think about Jesus and how he didn't force anything on anyone, yet millions follow him. This is a very good quote!

I think that Napoleon speaking of Jesus in such a way makes him into even more of a hypocrite than he already was. It would be good quote if it had been said by Roosevelt, or Churchill, but coming from Napoleon it was probably just propaganda.

Napoleon Bonaparte was short and like others, Hitler, Stalin, Moussalini he made up for his stature in other ways. He was a brilliant strategist. To answer your question, man conquers the body, but only God can conquer your spirit.

Excellent statement!

When God came into expression there was a vibration that manifests as light and sound. Most religions have light and sound (candle and bell for Christians) in their places of worship. This vibration is called Word in Christianity. And, according to the Bible, Jesus was the "word made flesh", no ordinary mortal.

Wow... just wow.

What a powerful quote. Aside from the religious aspect of it, I think it proves that teaching with love, not force is the way to go.

I wish more people would read that.

I like it. I admire quotes. Especially when it comes from someone that you would never guess.

I agree with it.

Think, Nepoleon is considered by some to be the 1st anti-christ.

Have you ever read any of Hitler's or Stalins essays or speeches. You'd think they were the 1st coming. Evil can not do good, or be good, or talk good for long.
