I have recently been recovering from an eating disorder. I noticed that there are support chat rooms for people with depression, weight loss, etc.! Its hard to be out here in the world alone w/o someone supporting you for recovering, so why won't they give us the right to do so?

I believe that we all have some tough issues in our lifes that we will have to face one time or another. From my personal experience I've found that talking openly with someone who shares that experience has been the greatest medicine. Yahoo has chat rooms for every other known thing under the sun, maybe you should push for this with them. Who knows how many people you could help by taking the time to push for a cause you care about.

YES
I believe that Yahoo should create a personal chat room at least some sort of place where people can come to support each other in these areas,

one thing I do know and that is that Yahoo is very much on top of these things when it comes to reaching out with a helping hand. very much in tuned .

I would not be surprised if something is being done about it at this very moment.

so those out there who face these issues as with other issues , continue to support one another here at the site that already exists.

all of you keep up the good work.

GOD BLESS YA>

Anyone can create a chat room. I'm sure Yahoo would be glad to host it.

You could also consider creating a Yahoo group. Check your Yahoo home page for groups.

Per an email I got from Yahoo... After evaluating our Chat service, we have decided to discontinue a number of adult-oriented rooms. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I think that would e a good idea then people can talk with other people that have the same problem that way they don't feel so mbarrased about eating disorders. Maybe you should suggest it to Yahoo and let me know about what happens .

I'm overweight, there's no way anyone is going to sucker me into a chat room for fatties only. In fact I'd rather exercise.

Yes, but until they do you can find many others on the internet. I typed in "eating disorder chat room" and came up with many. Good Luck.

Anyone can start a group. Go to yahoo groups and see if there is one already. If not, start one. The groups have chat features.

I think they should. It would help alot of people who are going through the same thing to know that there are other people out there going through it as well. They can support eachother in that way.
