I think it is okay, but in moderation. One or two drinks is fine as long as you don't overdo it. I'm a Christian and I enjoy having a few drinks with my Christian friends.
But Beware. Some Christians think it is pure evil and will jump on your case, call you a sinner and a drunkard. If this happens, be polite and go on your way. As long as you and God are satified with your lifestyle, you have nothing to worry about.
Other Christians don't get you into heaven. Jesus does... Who are they to decide?

I don't think Jesus would have turned water into wine for the wedding at Cana if it was a sin. In fact, wine was the best thing to drink then, because fermentation made the water safe to drink.
Having a glass of wine I don't think is a sin. Most things can be enjoyed in temperance. The problem is that so many people don't know when to stop drinking and will have four glasses of wine instead of one, or more, and get drunk. Such overindulgence and gluttony IS a sin.

The passage in the Bible says, "Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit." (Ephesians 5:18) It doesn't say don't drink. Elsewhere in the Bible, Christians are exhorted to practice self-control. (It's one of the fruits of the Spirit.) Distilling those two concepts together you have, "it's ok to drink, just don't go overboard."
So, what's overboard? That may differ from person to person depending on gender, height and weight. Men metabolize alcohol more readily than women; the taller and heavier you are, the lower your BAC (blood alcohol content) will be.
For me, one glass of wine is my limit. For you? That's between you and the Lord.
Also not addressed here is the issue of other types of alcohol. The verse talks about wine. So, is rum ok? whiskey? beer? The spirit of the verses is not about *what* you drink, but whether or not you're taken with drink (an issue of self-control). Again, this is an issue between you and the Lord. If you can drink with a clear conscience before the Lord, then it's ok.
Cheers!

The Scripture says "A little wine is good for the infirmities of the stomach." But anything that you use as a crutch is a sin. Alcohol becomes a sin when you'd rather be drunk that up and about the Father's business. So, if you must have it, do so in moderation. God got very angry with Noah for getting drunk after getting off the Ark and having immoral relations with a member of his family. If that doesn't scare you into taking into full account the dangers of over-imbibing, nothing will!

I can answer this questions based on what I learned at church. It is not Okay. A lot of people will tell you that it is okay because Jesus drank wine. This is wine derived from the Holy Spirit. It didn't make you stupid and crazy like man made wine. When you drink Man-made alcohol you get stupid, and crazy, and you may not be coherent or able to make proper decisions. .

Its one thing to drink red wine for medicinal purposes as part of a particular diet regiment or as an aid for digestion when eating heavy meats like prime rib or tbone steak.
It is something else to drink wine at social events and gatherings for the purpose of getting intoxicated or slightly intoxicated so that you can better enjoy yourself. Because alcohol is used in our culture abusively and used for the sole purpose of being intoxicated, it is considered to be sin because of the potential of being a drunkard.
If you were a french man and you had a glass of wine a day, it would not be a sin due to the fact that wine is a very big part of their culture and it is considered to very taboo to use it abusively compared to the US where we GLORIFY the abuse of alcohol.

no longer in person-friendly words Christians pray earlier nutrients. besides the undeniable fact that, they maximum in all probability were. As for even if it really is okay to drink alcohol, that relies upon on the denomination. For Catholics, Episcopalians, Anglicans, Orthodox, Methodists, Lutherans, and many different protestants, sure that is okay to drink alcohol. those certain denominations do not have any more something of their club that calls for the giving up of alcohol. Now, there are different denominations that do not enable the ingesting of alcohol. It does no longer end human beings from ingesting, besides the undeniable fact that the folk who opt for to drink do not forget which could a church elder/deacon or their minister see them, they'd nicely be chastised and in the adventure that they proceed to drink, they could have their club contained in the denomination nullified. The baptist church that I attended as a new child became one social gathering of any such denomination. Dancing, smoking, and playing cards became also forbidden by utilizing them. Did human beings destroy this settlement? sure. Do I undergo in ideas all people having their club cancelled? No. besides the undeniable fact that, the church by utilizing-regulations did have the record of forbidden issues in it.

That is a call you as a Christian have to make for yourself. I am a Christian and I do not have a problem with the occasional drink; however, getting drunk is never okay. Its abusing the temple god gave you and giving up control of your actions. If you are a member of a church that does not condone alcohol use, you need to take that into consideration as well. Also, if you are underage, its shouldn't even be a consideration. Good luck with your decision!

Ok, I don't have "the answer"
But. When I was in 1st grade at a Private Christian Academy, I had a Bible teacher argue with me on the story about "Jesus changing water to wine" - he tried to say it wasn't wine, it was grape juice, because Jesus wouldn't condone wine-drinking at a wedding.
True story, I swear!

It says in the bible that drink is ok but not to excess. In most cases wine was safer to drink that the local water supply. Wine does help you to relax but if you choose to drink too much (abuse it) then there things go wrong. I prefer wine over beer any day. It goes well with pasta but I never go beyond two glasses. Enjoy but enjoy responsibly

Just because everyone in the bible and their mother drank it? Of course it's OK. And by the way, it had nothing to do with digestion, rotten food, or bacteria. They drank it because it tasted good and it made them feel good - just like everybody else in the whole world outside of certain late and bizarre puritanical movements.
