They both can be over the hill technically ! Just get a 40 year old and 50 year old and go climbing up a hill and when you reach the top with them than You will understand !

I don't think that 40 is over the hill at all. I have heard so many people say that 40 is the new 30... as for 50 being over the hilll - you are as young as you think/feel you are

First, I would rather be over the hill, than underneath it!
I know a lot of young people that are really "old", and quite a few
older people who are very "young" (at heart)...
I believe it's really attitude.
For my life now, it's really heading for the good stuff! Kids out of
the house, more disposable spending money, my time at work
pays for my time away from work! Retirement is not too many years off from now, and I anticipate more of the same afterward:
lots of lovin' and lots of travel and lots of fun!
If this is considered "over the hill", then it can't come fast enough!

40 is on or over the hill. Not many people live to be a hundred.

50 is when we started calling Dad over the hill, but that was 20 years ago. It might have even been pushed back to 60 by now...

Any age can be over the hill depending on the attitude someone has toward life. I've known people who were old at 25 and people who are still young in their 90s.

Most people consider "over the hill" at 40. That's what all the hallmark cards say at least.
