There are many factors that contribute to obesity in children, but the availability of high calorie, fat laden junk food is mostly the fault of the parents - they are the ones providing it or allowing it. In this fast paced world we live in today with both parents working (if they're lucky enough to have two parents), it's just too easy to grab something quick on the way home, or between soccer games, or the many other activities we're involved in. Junk food at school doesn't help either.

Well, I don't agree with your foul language and angry spirit, but I do believe that there is a lot more to blame than fast food and sugar for overweight kids. Kids these days are spoiled and sit around playing video games all day or surfing the net and chatting with friends online. Inattentive and overly busy parents are indeed part of the problem, but no one wants to admit that he or she is a bad parent and that is why their kids are fat. It is much easier to blame it on the large companies. And hey, if you're loud enough and persistent enough, you may just get a fat payout check out of it too! It's all part of the huge cultural trait gripping America that says "Anyone is responsible for my problems BUT me."

You nailed it, jb. The fault is the parents', not the companies. Their irresponsibility regarding their children is disgraceful.
