You honestly believe that every person who is concerned about terrorism should go out and actually join the military? It's the same as saying if your a good American then you should go out and join! Besides, there are a lot of civilians that do plenty for our country and the war on terrorism. I'm a military wife and believe me, it's not easy. The sacrifices military spouses and military children make makes it possible for our loved ones to do what they need to do for our country. We have to play the role of both parents when the service member is gone. The children miss out on their parent being around. I could go and on. What about all these wonderful people that take the time to really support our troops over there? The ones that send care packages to the troops who they don't even know. Stuff like that is what keeps our service members going. No, you don't have to be on the front-line to fight terrorism. I believe that our military makes the biggest sacrifices of all, but there are plenty of us out there who pull our weight in more ways then one.

Wow, we sure have some SMART military strategists answering questions here....makes no sense to fight a war that can't be won....where were you when we started this war, we could have just yielded to your opinion and stopped before we even started...oh, but that's right, you would SPIT on the graves of our fallen citizens in NYC at the WTC....so i say piss off to you.....i served my ten years in the navy and so did my wife....my little brother is in now for six and my two cousins are in Iraq RIGHT NOW!!!! So I ask the same question: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR YOUR COUNTRY TODAY???

ps....armchair soldiering, that was kinda funny
pps....i'm a liberal, i don't agree with war..what the heck did you join in the first place...you're a fair weather patriot and G. Washington would be ashamed to share the same soil with you, and i do too!!!

Because it makes no sense to fight a war that can't be won.

Fighting a 'war on terrorism' (terrorism is a strategy by the way) is like fighting a 'war on outflanking maneuvers'.

because the war on terrorism is our fault. our government started this war based on false evidence. why would anyone be willing to die for something that is not even real? i sure am not. i think that everyone needs to do a little bit more research into this so called "war on terrorism" before they put so much effort into it. efforts like signing up to kill and die for it.

I am not an American , but even if I was, I won't join the army because they have no morals. look at what they have done in Afganstan & Iraq , yes they have killed terrorists but they killed more civilians. They claim that they went for peace.

but we can see the human rights in Abu-Guraib jail in Iraq and Guantanmo !!

What makes you think that the military aren't the terrorists? It took quite a while before they were discovered in Vietnam.

I would love to join, but I don't qualify, I have a bad knee and a developmental disability that makes it difficult for me to focus on activities.
