i think it's because not all people like/accept/agree/believe in what comes in one religion so they have to make up something else tht they like/accept/agree/believe in more as a religion.
people (with brains) believe tht there is God, creator for all of this, but they just didnt know how to reach him. god sends prophets through time, but not every one who heard about the prophets believed them. even tho' each prophet confim the presence of the one before. so, we still have diff religions.

All religions believe in God, but, believe in different ways to get to Heaven. Different aspects of christanity. Forinstance Catholics believe only Priests talk or pray to God, everyone else prays to the Virgin Mary, and the Priests have to remain Celebate, I believe its the only religon that believes that, others priests can marry.

Each man has his own interpretation of their belief in God. Thats why there are so many different religions. Ten people can read one single sentence and you will have ten (if not more!) different interpretations of that one single sentence.

Whose to say who is right and who is wrong. Live and let live. We will all find out for ourselves one day.

I love the if-then argument, especially when it's disconnected. The existence of many religions actually is a quasi-proof that there is a God. Not the reverse.

(muslims+jews) are monothesim but christans(in restrict sense they do believe that there are three Gods but in fold they are one) atheist budha, hindues are polythesim followers. We all believe in God(except atheist) but are confused about God.Jews worship one God YAHWAH & also believe that they are his sons.Christans believe that God is three in one(trinity) .Muslim worship one superior GOD (thats is Yahwah who send mosses, that is Father in the heaven who send jesus,)but donot believe that HE was begotton.Muslim worship unseen God that is the creator of universe but nothing like his creation. We believe in one God who created angels & humans for none purpose for just to worship him alone. We believe that all religions are send by God so we must respect each other , not to fight in matter of religion, no one practices religion to his perfection ,you can find good & bad people everywhere in every religion.so may God let peace in the universe

youre assuming that all people know about christianity. the fact is that there are plenty of religions that are older than christianity.

dont assume that everyone knows and beleives what you do.there are many out there who have no idea what a christian is and have never heard of theword "bible". lucky them.

christianity was NOT the first religion.
