you're right its hard not to tell any lies in this life. One strategy you might consider, instead of the imperative lie, is to see how you can tell the truth with respect for the others' feelings. A lot of people today use the truth as a weapon of blunt trauma, leaving you battered in the street with a cold but i was just telling you the truth. as you get older and those memory chips degrade, it does get easier to speak the truth, cause its hard to remember all the lies you told to what people. And its easier to look in that mirror when lies are not a big part of your life. peace and love from the old hippie

I don't believe that people should go around making up lies just for the fun of it, but I think there are times when you almost have to lie. If no one ever told white lies, there would be a whole lot of hurt feelings out there, and most people wouldn't have any friends at all. It would be a sad place.
However, if people stopped asking stupid questions like, "Is she prettier than me?", "Do I need to lose weight?", and other shallow things, it probably wouldn't be a problem.

Absolutely! People lie..but why. And I'd like to meet the person that has told lies day in and day out and doesn't have a mental backlash of self doubt. Lying is never necessary...it just happens. The point is I'm sure we will all do it at least once in our lives if not a hundred times. But will we like ourselves afterwords...that is the true question!

Well, Geetika .. Lying is wrong if your lie yields bad results. I mean.. if a girl asks you whether she's fat..and she actually is and you tell her the truth..would you ever see her again?! You would just go and hurt her feelings
And even the supposedly truthful Satyavadi Harichandra (i don't actually know much about him, but i presume you do since you're indian) lied once to a hunter to save an innocent animal's life.
Lying is necessary to uphold the truth.
However, lying to get what you want or lying to deceive other people to satisfy your greed or avarice is wrong.
But lying for the greater good is well..good!

Yes. To lie is actually ABnormal. One lie will simply lead to more and more.
Blatant lies are a sin. What a friend we have in Jesus.
People lie to spare another's feelings sometimes. It takes more character to be honest than kind. One lie leads to many lies which are necessary to cover up the initial lie. You can't win. It's like heroin. Once you do it, it's hard to stop.
It is possible to go through life without lying. You just carry the conviction that it's wrong, and you refuse to do it.

I have lied in the past but have decided that for no reason am I going to lie again. So no matter what I tell the truth. I can't say I'll never lie again but I'm trying hard not to. I just hate being lied to, so don't want to lie

It is totally possible. It is never imperitive that you lie, it is never required. It is quite often the kindest thing to do but it is never something you have to do.
A lot of it is how you live your life. I tell my kids, "Never do anything you couldn't come home and tell your mother about." If you never put yourself in a situation that requires a lie, you never have to worry about lying.

I think everyone does it. Especially as a little kid. Even white lies like why you were running late for work.
I think it's just part of being human.

No. Sometimes you need to lie.
For Example: My boyfriend got a totally horrendous haircut. I lied and told him I thought it looked good because there is no reason for me to be mean to him when he is so good to me.
