Well, dearie, I've read 17 answers to your question - and the only ones that I really disagree with - and am almost afraid to see you try ----

Baking soda paste? and frozen food?

The first is good for rashes (de-itching), and the second for strains/sprains (swelling) - but - both can burn/re-burn your skin.... ouchie again, and again. . .

Tea bags --- orange pekoe/pekoe tea --- not herbal
Soak 'till saturated - cool in fridge, if desired - do not freeze
Put on burned areas ---

The tanic acid helps cancel the sting.

Good luck to you - and stay cool (out of the sun)

Baby it. The suffering should only last a few days. Maybe after aloe vera or whatever you put on it to moisturize, make sure that you wear a very loose shirt. It will blister and peel if it is that painful. Ow. I feel for you.
PS -A sunburn is a genuine burn to the skin. It is amazing too how you can get one that serious before even knowing you are getting one. They usually start to hurt "after" the fact.
And when using sunscreen, the higher the protection number on the bottle, the stronger the protection they say.

Sun burn is pretty much first degree burn right.Well anyways if it's that bad, don't be surprised it'll peel. As for treating it: Smooth aloe vera gel over it to soothe the skin. Take a painkiller like Tylenol to reduce the swelling and pain. Drink plenty of water.
In the Future: Wear protective clothing like hats, sunglasses, scarves and whatnot's. Also use a sunscreen above 30 SPF, smooth it over the skin and wait 15- 20 minutes before going outside for the sunscreen to be completely absorbed. Also try and shorten the amount of time you spend out under the sun.

Been there. Use baking soda. Make a paste from water and baking soda and put it on the burnt area or better yet have a bath in luke warm water and a small box of baking soda. When you come out of the bath, apply vitamin E lotion and also take 400 mg. of Vitamin E and Vitamin A. You should do so anyway as they are both good for eyesight and skin and other benefits. Take Aspirin for the pain and burning and so you can sleep at night. Stay out of the sun dummy!

I'll tell you the answer my mother & sister swear by for sunburns.. Vinegar. Take a bath in vinegar.. It's supposed to get the sting out. My sister is a sun worshipper and has burned several times and says vinegar is the way to go. Me personally I think it stinks and preferred the pain over the smell. Now I use sunblock and a hat

Aloe vera (Aloe barbedensis) helps relieve minor burns like those you get from sunburns, but be careful, it is messy.

Also, like the others said, wear sunscreen next time!!

Buy lotion with aloe in it. You can even buy just aloe. Put in the fridge before you put it on. It will feel better that way. Keep your skin moisturized with that and it will get better in a day or two. I have had burns like that before and this always makes me feel better.

I know this sounds crazy, but put vinager on it. It really helps with the pain, limits the peeling, and helps take away the red leaving a nice tan.
