Dish uses Satlite receiver while Cable uses an Antenna
Cable is a system of providing television, FM radio programming and other services to consumers via radio frequency signals transmitted directly to people’s televisions through fixed optical fibers or coaxial cables as opposed to the over-the-air method used in traditional television broadcasting (via radio waves) in which a television antenna is required.

Digital Cable is a cable through your house that comes from your local company. Dish is a satellite communication with the network that is transmitted trough space. digital cable cost more. $65. I just switched to them from Direct TV. direct TV was $43. I switched because they offered a special deal-$25 off each month for 16 months. now the Price is the same. The difference is the package came with all the Encore channels and a few learning channels. after 16 months I will look for a deal with Direct TV or Dish. Their is always a good deal. Just keep your eyes open and you will find one.
They all have features better than the other and the have features worse than the other.

Essentially its the same thing from a user's standpoint. The dish is an actual satellite dish that is mounted outside of your house in order to recieve the television signal whille digital cable is facilitated through the underground cable line from your local cable company.
What makes the dish programming so good is that it has interactive menus and program guides that you could not get on regular cable tv. Digital cable gives you the best of both worlds because your signal is not affected by snow, wind, or rain the same way that the dish is affected.

digital cable is the latest version of regular cable - hard wired to your house only in digital format which allows for digital TV and audio.
Dish is similar only broadcast from satellites to a dish mounted on the side of your house.

"Dish uses Satlite receiver while Cable uses an Antenna"
Bollocks.
A "dish" is an antenna, or more correctly it is the most recognisable and largest part of a microwave antenna.
A cabl system uses .... a cable, not a receiver and its consequent need for an antenna.
