A belief is a hope, if some christians believe and hope that non-believers and their families will convert or burn in hell forever, isn't that an extremely evil and depraved concept?

If you think an Athiest who refuses to believe in God with no proof will burn in hell for all eternity, doesn't that make you a sociopath?

Exactly! Shouldn't they love and accept everyone even if they don't believe in God. Another example of pure hypocrisy to me. But I'll take sociopath, that's a good description!

Non-Believers and those that are bound for hell will not suffer eternally. God is a loving God. He will not allow for anyone to suffer eternally. What is eternal is the effect of His judgement. For instance, when God rains fire on the evil doers and non believers, they will burn for a certain amount of time and then as soon as they are ashes, that's the end of that. He will not raise them again nor are they forever burning in hell.

I'm sure that while some Christians believe that Athiests (and others who don't follow their brand of Christianity) will go to Hell, I think they're more likely to want the the person to be converted, than to want them to suffer in Hell.

I think the idea of not following a brand of religion will have you damned to eternal torment in Hell is stupid and ignorant, but not necessarily sociopathic.

Your premise is incorrect. A belief is not a hope. I doubth that you would say, "I believe, I mean I hope, that evolution is true."

Why would you worry about what is going to happen when you die anyway? You don't believe (hope?) in a loving God who wants to have a relationship with you and you don't want one anyway. When you die, the worst that will happen is that you will get your desire and not have any fellowship with God or any hope of one. Isn't this what you want anyway? So be happy.

Of course, you were created to have a relationship with God and the knowledge of how you foolishly rejected Him to the point that fellowship is impossible will be torture to you but that is your choice, not God's punishment.

And who's fault will it be that you will be in hell? Will it be God's fault because He didn't come down to you and perform tricks like an impotent puppet dancing to your wants and desires? I don't think so. He doesn't owe you anything. You, on the other hand, owe your creator everything.

No and No. Those who do not believe in Christ will spend eternity in Hell. It's a cold hard fact laid out in the Bible. Jesus gave his life for us to be reconciled to God. We have been given the choice to accept him. If we blatantly chose not to then we are doomed to Hell.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only son and whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Actually the dictionary definition of belief is "Mental acceptance of and conviction in the truth, actuality, or validity of something"

We believe that Heaven and Hell are true and that the only way to get to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. It is sad and disappointing that non-beleivers will suffer in Hell. That is why Christians evangelize and attempt to give knowledge of the good news of Jesus Christ to others. Ultimately it is their decision.

No, there is no reason for anyone who is capable of hearing the "Good News" to go about their life in ignorance. Those people are choosing to have a life without God. They will suffer the consequences.

I believe the bible. The bible says that those who reject Jesus Christ will go to hell. Does it make me evil for believing what the bible says?

There is a verse in the bible that says God is not willing for any to perish, that He wants all to come to repentance. A Christian gets no pleasure out of thinking those who reject Jesus will go to hell....we just believe in the truth of the bible, and the bible says that is the consequence of those who do not repent, and do not believe in Jesus Christ as their savior.

Ah one who is learning to separate the sheep from the goats.

very good.

Christians are to believe in one thing and one thing only Jesus was/is/will always be Messiah.

The rest of that junk they are not to worry themselves about because it is in God's hands.

Salvation, Judgment and condemnations are God's business and God's alone. The sooner we Christians stop putting our noses in God's business like goats and start following the voice of the Good Shepard like sheep the better the world will be.
