I don't know what may come with the camera but I have a Sony Mindv I bought a Minidv editing program for my computer called Power Director it allows me to capture video from my camera to my computer through a fire wire. Once I have the video transferred or captured I can edit it cut portions I don't want add music or do a voice over or just keep as is. I can burn it onto a DVD. I really like Power Director it is fun taking what you record and fine tuning your video and then being able to save it unto a DVD for years to come. Sony has nothing like it I am sure of that. I would recommend Adobe Premiere Pro or Adobe After Effects. But After Effects is better than Adobe Premiere series.
