No. But who are you kidding, you know your wife won't be fooled. So go to the reunion, be sociable, and take advantage of your in-laws: Leave the kids in their care and get away with the missus for a few hours of private time.

No....it's not a sin (and yes, I AM a Christian). It's not real good karma though, and could easily come back to bite you in the A**. Like, maybe, the next time you have something you really want to do, you might actually come down sick and won't be able to do it. But only you can decide if it's worth risking karma-retribution.
But, no, it's not a sin, and it won't keep you out of Heaven. I feel your pain though. Just the thought of an entire holiday weekend with my husband's family makes me hyperventilate.

I'm not so sure it is a sin.... but faking is technically lying and it is a sin to lie..... and your wife's family is your family too... so you should spend time with them! Maybe you have a nice time.

It is disrespectful, rude, selfish lying. If those are sins then yes. Try honesty and/or making the best of the situation otherwise you may not be condemed to hell but you will be condemed to sleeping on the couch until the divorce goes through.

lol. You can't just tell her the truth? Try making it about her and I bet it works. Some candles, a nice bottle of wine, some soft music. All of a sudden she'll want to be home alone with hubby. Family? What's that? I would choose a weekend of romance and fun with my hubby over just about anything.

Yes you lied and that is a sin no matter how small the lie was. It would have been better if you had been honest with your wife.

I do not know if it is a sin or not-you should look within your heart for that answer.
However, I can't imagine it would be very healthy for your relationship, which usually requires trust, honesty, love, compromise and sacrifice to survive.
Good luck!

No, that's what you call common sense. If it were me, I'd avoid spending time at my husband's family get togethers, but if I fained illness they'd all come to the house to see how I was doing.
