We just had a slumber party for 9 & 10 year olds not too long ago and the girls had a blast.
Have tons of snacks and drinks - I never knew how much food 6 girls could eat until that night.
Each of the girls got to make their own mini pizzas for dinner, which they loved doing, and then because they were a part of making it, they ate it all.
Movies - we had The Princess Bride, Dr. Doolittle, Grease and The Outsiders.
Games - Scene It Jr and outside treasure hunt
Crafts - they made water bottle holders, candles and painted their own glass vases, which we put fake flowers into.
Plus they did other things as well. I gave them their space, while still supervising quietly in the background. All the girls had a good time and we're planning another one later on in the summer.

My daughter has a 10 year old daughter. She has been having slumber parties for her on her birthday for at least 5 years. First, she limits the number of party goers that she can have over all night. For her tenth she had 3. For her 5th, she had 6. It was easier then. They may take in a movie or better still, go as a group to rent a movie supervised by MOM.. They go as a group to pick out the food they want to eat that night with MOM having the final say. They choose the activity from a list of those approved by MOM. The family can be included in watching the movie or, if you have the room, the girls can watch their movie alone, with MOM popping in from time to time. Depending on what time you start the party will determine the other activities. My daughter will normally start the party anywhere from noon to 2:00pm. Showers and indoor activities begin at a set time. This year the (4) girls fell asleep around 2:00am on a mattress on the floor in the living room.
Find out what your daughter would like to do at her party. Have her make a list of activities. Approve as many as you will and then have her choose a set number from those activites approved. Like you may only want 2 activities. She is the one that narrows it down to 2. Of course, you can always talk her into doing the activites you really want to supervise.
Good luck. Have fun. Mimi

What kind of theme she is interested in ? Make some popcorn, rent a disney movie, have some board games on hand, or least some video games. you can also do some face painting.
If you got a pool, have a pool/slumber party. Make sure everyone got floaties, and them inflated floats that goes around the arms. Put up some lights outside, and play some of her favorite songs.
Just don't forget about the cake and ice cream.

Nearly all the little-girl slumber parties I attended-and had- when I was growing up involved pizza or pigs in a blanket or some other kid-friendly food, movies, and a lot of the time we painted tee-shirts with the little puff-paint things. Still have some of those old shirts :) Don't plan too much, let them be creative and come up with their own things to do (but do keep a close eye on them). They may end up surprising you.

Rule #1, no more than 8 girls, I allow 1 girl per year in age at the max. The more girls you have there, the more the little spats can well up.
Entertainment: if you have a PS2, my kids really enjoy DDR, and the new Karaoke revolution games. Get some movies from Blockbuster, plenty of pizza, limit the caffienated sodas (for obvious reasons.)
If you're worried about a sleepover, have a "late over." Its where parents come and pick the kids up around 11pm or so. They get to have all the fun of the sleepover, but everyone sleeps in their own beds/homes. And you don't have a house full of sleepy/grouchy kids the next morning.

Rent a bunch of movies, Get a bunch of pizzas, Have a big open space with no couches or whatever for girls to do whatever they do at slumber parties, kids love board games so if you have any you could suggest that as something to do, have hair stuff out so they could do each others hair like put it in pony tails or whatever, play some music that kids that age like, oh yeah - they would love playing twister, if you don't already have it, you could buy it - it only costs like $10, let them take pictures of each other...Arts and Crafts are awesome!!! You could have a slip and slide and water related stuff!!! Most of all, take into consideration what your daughter wants! That's all I can think of!

Start your party about 6 or 7 pm, after supper time. Ask guest to bring sleeping bags, pillows, PJ's, teddy bear, and personal care items. Have cake and ice cream, and then have a few NEW movies rented that are appropriate for the age(s) of the guests, and make sure to have lots of popcorn! Get lots of little-girl nail polish colors and some fun looking hair bows. Let the girls make-over each other and watch movies. Make sure you have enough nail polish and bows to send one of each home with each guest. Clear out your TV room of all breakables in case of a pillow fight. Plan to have waffles or pancakes for breakfast in the morning, so stock up on supplies. Have fun, and be sure to rest well the night before, 'cause you may not sleep much the night of the party!

a few films as some wont sleep. Some pizzas and cake for supper. Some choccie to rot their teeth when you drop off so they dont attempt to cook. Some games if theyre not to excited to concentrate they can play. Dont attempt a slumber party when you have to work the next day. If you have a weekend off friday is best and you and all the other parents will have a lovely quiet time on sat night.

My son wanted a slumber party for his upcoming birthday. I decided that since I don't like a lot of kids in my house that I was going to give it in a hotel. I was going to get a suite and order pizza for them to eat. For a girl slumber party get some dress up clothes and some makeup. Let them put on a fashion show for you and take pictures to take home as a party favor. Let them make cookies, pizza, ice cream, or your daughters favorite dish. Get some movies for them to watch while they are eating. You can also get a art activity kit from Walmart or Micheals for the girls to make some jewerly, pottery, stckers or even a picture frame to put their pictures in. For some more ideas just type in slumber party ideas for girls.
