I didn't order one, but I got one off the shelf. It was good at first, but now I'm getting problems with it.

The mail order bride term is nothing more than a catch phase for a international dating service. There is no possible way within the US Immigration Service to order a bride. All the mail order service does is provide a means of meeting and corresponding with a lady. It is the lady's decision to correspond or not with the potential suitor. It seems everyone responsing to this question doesn't have a clue. It is true that Russian women are very attractive and educated (most have college degrees) but they are also very smart and strong and will not be treated as a possession. They have high standards and will not correspond or seek a relationship with any man. They are selective. I will say that they are more interested in an honest and hard working man than their looks or income. In addition they are very traditional and value their husband, family, home and career in that order of importance. In order to even to applied for a VISA for a fiancee, you must have and in person meeting and will have to probably travel to the lady city of residence. Yes, there are a few scam artist out there but they are easy to discover. If a lady says she is falling in love with you after a few emails --its a scam. It she asked for money to get a VISA and a airline ticket to come and visit you, -- its a scam. A Russian lady can't travel freely to the US without a student or work Visa. A tourist travel VISA is nearly impossible to obtain. If you use a viable website the ladies are interviewed personally by the staff to weed out any potentail scammers. I would recommend a website I have used to find a wonderful fiancee that I have used. It name is "A Volga Girl" and the website address is www.volgagirl.com. Good luck and hope you now know the difference between fact and fiction concerning "mail order brides". By the way, my Russian fiancee will be arriving in the US in August after an eight month process to obtain a "Fiancee VISA".

A friend of mine is in the process of getting a mail order bride from Russia. So far, it's been expensive, troublesome, and worthless. The first girl that was sent looked nothing like her picture, was sloppy, and we found out that she'd been used as a prostitute in the States before my friend got to even meet her! She was also hooked on meth, and my friend decided to send her back to the place that sent her! The second woman was much older than the paperwork stated, and she openly admitted to going this route simply to come to the states and get a green card, and did not want to get married, or work, just a rich husband. Most of these mail order places are fraudulent, expensive, and not very trustworthy! Be wary, my friend...you'd be better off with a dating service located in the states that helps with international dating....

Willing to buy your wife from you?You need to think long and hard about what a wife means. It is obvious what it means to YOU, but be warned that people are not dumb and will call the authorities on you if you mistreat them. You are not "buying" anyone. This is not indentured servitude and she has to pay off her passage and fee rate.
It is your type of mentality and attitude that scares away women from blind daiting, marriage or anything. While some seek love because they have failed at attracting women....you want a slave. How despicable, did your parents not raise you to clean up after yourself? Or are you so horrible in bed that you have to buy and force someone to lie with you?

One of my instructors in college did that about 10 years ago. Initially he paid around $6,000 to the company that found the bride. He had to live in Russia with her family for about 90 days, then she had to stay with him in America for 90 days as well. Over all he paid around $15,000 for the entire experience. He never married the woman, but he said it was the best thing he has ever done. Other people who I have heard about doing this sort of thing have also said it was best experience of there lives, but no one ever got married. go figure.

Scary Thought though.
What if the mail order bride is a rubber doll? Now that would be the world's biggest joke on you.

I am russian and have russian wife. I live in US but got merried in russia. I have few friends here in US that got into this Russian Bride thing...
DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
I had to see my friends bring these girls here, spend $$$ on that and then spend $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ to get them back!!! And that only if they could, as these girls wanted to come to America and would use anything to stay. So my advise - find normal girl here, and live happy!!!

I knew one once. Christina was her name, I met her when I lived in Vegas. Seemed like a pretty cool setup for the guy, she didn't sleep with him but she pretty much took care of him like he was her husband. She also paid the mortgage payment in return for her citizinship. I felt a little weird about sleeping with her in the same house as her "husband" but whatev, you only live once.
