Do you really think your religion is any different than the various extinct mythologies? I mean, people believed in Zeus and Ra as much as you believe in the modern day nonsense. You don't really have any reason to believe whatever you do except that you were brainwashed as a child before your mind was developed enough to think rationally. Three year-olds believe in magic. Grown-ups should grow up and think about things not just say it's magic or god's way if you don't understand. The real world is nice enough without your having to believe in a bunch of made up religious crap.

I completely agree. I once said (in an English class) that people are going to look back at this day and age and laugh because we believed in Jesus. People got mad at me, but eh. As a child I was told that there was an Easter Bunny, a Santa Claus, a Tooth Fairy, and a God. I believed because that's what children do, but as I got older I learned to question these beliefs. I am so tired of Christians telling me they believe in God because that's what they're taught and that's what's in the bible. Learn to think for yourself.

You can read the answers and see. People don't care about what is logical and rational. It is convenient to believe in all the nonsense because it a) makes you feel important and b) lets you get along with you fellow-believers.
You could write a book about miracles and how to live your life. You'd probably find some people who will believe it is divine because they just want to believe. There is nothing so stupid that people won't believe it. Did Jesus make tons of fish and bread? Did Mohommed fly up to heaven? Of course not. Anyone who thought so was either a) on drugs, b) schizophrenic with hallucinations, or c) part of the hoax to gain power.
Everything magic and spiritual is either immagnary or a chance event. Millions of people pray for stuff all the time. 99% f it never happens, but the 1% that does is talked about so much that it seems to be meaningful.

Hey... I still believe in magic. I always will. You need only look into the eyes of a child waiting in the dark for the alarm clock to ring on the first day of vacation, or a new mother holding her new born in her arms. You need only "see" how a silly thing like a rainbow or sunset can make you smile or how a stupid movie can bring a tear to your eye. There is magic all around us. Love is magic.
Those who cannot see the magic see only black and white and shades of gray. My world has colors everywhere, so may be crazy, but that's okay. Yes... I believe in religion too. It's another color of my world.

People are meant to be religious, and to search for a religion, regardless of what you believe a human is comprised of a spirit, and its because of that nature that we search for things to worship.

Be it people or ideas. We were created to do it.

Your problem is that you dont believe, and you have guilt over not believing in one thing or another, so you're attacking those who do. Which is also a human characteristic. Past experience has burnt you on the idea, and this is how you rid yourself of the torment of feeling judged by those who were of poor witness to their faith.

In either case, trying to argue will gain you nothing of any real value. Except anger and resentment.

"When I was a child, I spoke like a child...I reasoned like a child...

"When I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways.

"...and now faith, hope, and love abide...and the greatest of these is love."

I'd rather put my faith in the spirit than in the materialistic, anxiety-ridden world of man. Religion is not perfect, the Bible is not perfect, but God is perfect.

Surrendering to God takes great maturity; getting beyond the simplistic stories of religion is a great challenge that usually only some adults can succeed at.

I hope you will find a faith that works for you.

"The real world is nice enough..."

That's where I think the problem lies, that this world just isn't nice enough. The idea (true or not, I don't know) that we become nothing more than worm food after we die is quite scary, so people invent myths to give them a sense of purpose. In an of itself, that's fine, it's when two myths collide that we have problems (war, slavery, murder, etc).

Obviously, your only trying to instigate a flame war here. I do it as well, but out of a sense of humour and with a (sometimes) lighthearted manner. Your method is blatant idiocy. Just go to a bar and pick a fight. Oh, your a pencil neck geek who feels safe hiding behind a computer screen. I get it. More power to you princess.

The same way that you get annoyed by people pushing religion on you...people that are religious get annoyed at people that try to push their non-faith on them.

You have a right to your opinion just like everyone else...but what makes you an intelligent human being is to embrace people's differences, cultures, faiths and be OPEN MINDED...

Do you honestly think the real world is nice? Please! Secondly, just because you don't believe doesn't give you the right to insult people or what they believe. See, that's how the real world works and you think that's nice? Thirdly, I'm wondering how you don't believe? It seems pretty obvious to me that God DOES exist.
