This debate has lasted for quite some time. It is true that more and more people are lactose intolerant, which has opened the market for soy products and harsh criticism of the dairy industry which over-milks its cows. Most of the fuss is about the quality of our dairy products. Once a cow is past it's milking phase, dairy "farmers" start injecting the cows with hormones to make them continue to produce milk. They are hooked up to machines which milk them almost constantly which then causes irritation and infection of the udders. Enter antibiotics. No, the cows do not get a vacation while they're on meds. In fact, there is no proper" dose" for a cow by weight, then simply give more and more until the infection is cured. When it reoccurs, more and more medicine is required to treat the infection because they bacteria that survived the first treatments were the strongest ones. Now, hormones, pesticides from the animal feed, pus from the infection and antibiotics all end up IN YOUR MILK. My solution is this... buy organic and you will have none of those problems. If you have no allergy to milk, don't let other people tell you what is right for you. Just get the healthiest version of what you need without all the "extras".

If you are lactose intolerant (which means you have stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting whenever you eat dairy) than it is bad for your digestive system to be working it this way alot. If you aren't which is likely then it is the most nutrient rich food group...milk can grow a cow to adulthood...that's pretty nutrient filled right. Best wishes

no they are not bad for you they are very good for you. milk may cause problems for lactose intolerant people or people with other digestive issues but haven't you heard the get 24 in 24 promotion ? Drink your 3 glasses of milk per day for a better figure. the rest is all good too don't worry about. My hubby calls me the Dairy Queen because i love all dairy products (don't forget butter!). I have long beautiful hair, great teeth and super long natural nails that are healthy (not painted !!!!!).

No if you can handle it. No allergies to the milk itself or a lactose intolerance. The only reason that you have to worry about dairy is the fat. It can cause clogged arteries, cholesterol and gaining weight. I would make sure that you are getting the recommended daily amount and other vegetables and fruits, just to make sure that you aren't getting to many fats in your diet. Other than that-EAT ON!!

No. As long as with anything else...you eat it in moderation. Organic dairy is also much better as there are no steroids given to the cattle, but it is more expensive. And try to get cheese with the least amount of fat possible!

Some people can handle it better than others. If it doesn't bother you, eat on! You might want to switch to fat free or you will be the size of a house.

Dairy products are GOOD for you... Do you remember the food pyramid or 4 food groups? Unless you're lactose intolerant, they should keep a regular place in your diet.
