Like many others have said, let time work for you.
I know 11-year-olds don't like to hear this (probably your parents are saying the same, or something similar), but it really is true.
By the time I was 17 I KNEW what I wanted to be. Guess what? It never worked out! And am I happy it didn't work out? You Bet!
I became 1) an electronics engineer, 2) a national award-Winning job developer for Southeast Asian Refugees in the Boston Area, 3) a teacher in People's Republic of China and Fiji, 4) a self-employed computer consultant, 5) a computer applications tester in the Financial Services area, and 6) a self-employed photographer!
Try different activities and adventures. When you can... TRAVEL! (Get your folks to travel more and take you along)! READ! Listen to experienced people! Research different careers!
Wow, I wish I were 11 years old again, I'd do even more! LOL
Good Luck!

I was a late bloomer. I didn't figure that question out until I was in my 30's! Don't focus on that yet. Focus on what looks interesting to you. Find out what you are good at....for instance, if you're good with numbers (Math) maybe you'd be a good accountant. If you are good in Sciences focus on a career that deals with Science. If you are good with Art than follow your talents in that field. It's really not that hard to figure out what makes you tick and interests you. If animals is where your love is, then maybe become a vet or an animal tech. It is still a long way away, but keep your eyes open. You will meet people at work all the time throughout your young life. Always ask yourself, "Would I like to do that?" If the answer is yes, research the education you need for the job. The less education you need normally, the less pay you will get. Try to focus on where the money flows. Don't expect someone else to support you when you are out in the world. Make sure you can support yourself! Good luck and keep those grades up!

I said the same thing when I was 11. Don't worry about it . Things change and will continue to. Also your ideas and personality will too.I say when your about as old as I am(15) look back and decide then. I'm in high school and This is when you start making the choices. I didn't know what I wanted so I looked Back in my life and looked for what I was passionate about ever since I could remember. I loved to help animals and take care of the. That's why I made up my mind to become a vet. Don't worry about so far in the future. Enjoy you childhood because it goes by fast. Trust me I know.
Hope it was Helpful.

I'll tell you what you should be when you grow up,,, RELAXED. You're only 11, there is no need in the world to decide what you want to do when you grow into a person you don't even know yet! Do what you like to do for now, later will come later. Be a little girl and enjoy life!

Girl...dont' you know how dangerous the internet really is? You betta not be alone doin' this.
Ok...suggestions...Healthcare is quite expanse...it gives you a lot of flexibility...and the careers are in demand. Specifically nursing...you get to help people...and practice medicine. You'll always find a job cause everyone gets sick. You can also go into cosmetology...I always suggest that to young teens...cause it's actually a good career...to become a barber..or hairstylist...whatever you wanna call it...you get good pay...and you can get a job anywhere. And...it's a short career. If you're interested in law...how about paralegal? It's basically a legal assistant...helps out the lawyer...or whatever...and...it's fast job...kinda in demand I think, too. Or...teaching...but I never suggest that cause you have to truly have a passion for a specific subject and teach others...it's tough. Hope any of these careers help!

I would agree that the best thing you can do at your age is test out the waters, so to speak. Look around and try a lot of things to see what interests you. Do well in school and determine which classes you do well at and enjoy. Volunteering is always good, especially in fields you are interested in. Even someone your age can get involved, and you will get valuable experience that looks good on a resume. In the meantime, be a kid. Have fun and don't worry too much about the future. It will come before you know it.

I'm 26....I graduated college in 2002 when I was 23 and STILL had no idea what to do....and now I am back in school because I finally figured it out....i want to be an interior designer, but I didn't realize it until i was 26...there is NO rush at all, please trust that. You don't need to know at 11 years old what you want to do....you have lots of time to experience so many things and try so many things.....don't limit yourself now and don't stress about it :-)

You have plenty of time yet to decide what you want to be. Enjoy your childhood days. On the other hand if you want ideas of the different careers out there, you can do research on the internet or check out your local community library for books on this topic. Or you could try talking to different people in your community provided that they're friendly and wouldn't mind helping about their career and experience with it.

First, ignore the mean answers. They are very stupid people. Unfortunately, you will always have to deal with ignorance in this world. On another note, be whatever makes you feel good inside. Don't be something that you THINK you need to be. Don't live other peoples dreams. If it makes you smile when you are doing it and you are not counting the seconds for it to end...then you made the right choice.
