It doesn't matter. The word god is not a name. It is the description many people give for a supreme being. Supreme beings aren't that interested in capitalization.

God should be spelt with a capital G because the name of a deity like Buddha etc. is capitalized. However, it should be noted that the idol or mythological god is not only spelt with a small letter but it can be pluralized as gods. Thus, the Judeo- Christian God is special- a proper noun- because although it refers to Father, Son and Holy Spirit, it remains singular.

If we are talking about the Almighty God Creator of Heaven and Earth Father of Issac Jacob and Abraham, then YES we do use a capital. We do this because He is The One and Only TRUE GOD!!! Now for other gods we use little because they are not real and don't deserve honor or praise or even recognition.

God should be spelled with a capital G when referring to the Almighty God. There are many gods out there but only Jehovah God is the Almighty one.

God is spelt with a capital if you are referring to the Christian / Jewish God since its a proper noun. If you are speaking of any other god, or using it as an adjective, it's a lowercase 'g'

God with a G is referring to the Creator of the universe. Anytime you see me referring to Him, I use a capital letter.
If you speak of a false idol, then it's a little g, as in the money gods.

First we need to determine which God we are talking about here. Are you referring to the real God, the unconditionally loving God who we are all a part of? The one Jesus was talking about when he said the kingdom of God is within you. The one who is our dearest friend and closest companion. The one who speaks to us and guides anyone who will ask for His/Her guidance and then listen for the answer.
Or are we talking about the angry little judgmental God that lives on some far off cloud called heaven. The one who seems to be more concerned with our errors than he is with our successes? You know the egocentric needy little God that always wants people to worship him. The one who is always unavailable because he is only a fantasy? You need to specify if you want a real answer.
