There is what's left of the person's body, which will decompose.

No one really knows for sure. We can only go by our religious, (or nonreligious) beliefs. I personally think there is purgatory, heaven and hell, but an atheist does not.I know that people mean well when they say,"It's better to believe and find out your wrong than to not believe & find out you where wrong" But I really don't think that is a valid reason for believing. You've got to FEEL it in your heart, body & soul. If you don't, you don't. I really don't care...but, just remember though, even if you repent on your death bed and except Jesus as your saviour, you will be saved. The Bible say that the last will be the first and the first will be the last...(to enter the kingdom of heaven)

There is a promise.

1Cor.15:22; As in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

If you have been a just person, this sounds good, if you have not, is it possible that you could be, everything is between you and the owner of the univese, and he is not trespassing, Matt.6:9-13; John 16:23;

What is there before a person is born? I tend to go with what I know. I know there was a whole lot of nothing before I was born, I expect a whole lot of nothing after death, but the good thing is there's no sense of time passing, so you won't even notice the nothing.

Not for the dead person.

And for "SGT CECH" and the like minded who see atheists as mouthing nothing but nonsense.

Let be me unbiased and assume you believe there is another life after this one. Which one is yours? Valhalla, The Underworld, The Land of the Spirit? When you picked one, how did it become "the Truth?"

Wait, wait, don't tell me. It's in the ____. (You can fill in the blank with "Torah," "Gospel," "Quran" "Bhagavat-gita" "Tao Te Ching", etc. And obviously the one you chose must be the one and only right one. And obviously that's not nonsense, is it?)

Yes, Eccl. 9:5, 10 We are unconscious, dead, knowing nothing, feeling nothing. The opposite of life is death. If we have no life then we have nothing, no feelings emotions or anything else, we return to the dust just like God told Adam, "dust you are dust you will return" That's all and that's it :)

When the brain stops functioning, conscious awareness (thinking) ends. The body decomposes and evolves into other life forms over time.

It's called "evolution."

The body is left to decompose. The Spirit will live eternally in Heaven or Hell.

Our soul lives forever and we go on to a new dimension. As far as our body is concerned that is just food for the critters, or ashes for the plants and trees.
