Some answers like freebird try to show as if Americans saved Iraq from Saddam. I know Iraqis who fled with their families because of the current blind killings, they said although Saddam was a dictator but we used live an go to work and school normally it his time which was 100 times better than at the time of America since there are no water, electrecity, fuel, and horror all the time.

If you purchase a brown bag of apples, there is no way to judge which is bad, until the bag is opened. I heard this from an Iraqi man who lived near my South Carolina home.
The army has no way to know who will rape and murder. I was in the army in Vietnam and saved a little girl from drowning; the story was never on the news. Many acts of kindness were never told, only atrocities.
Even in Vietnam, there were bad soldiers. In My Lai, several American soldiers raped a fourteen year old girl to death. Nothing was ever done about that part of the My Lai Massacre.
I had a close friend in Vietnam who I would have died for if necessary. One day, he tried to rape a Vietnamese college girl. I stopped him and a dear friend became an enemy.
The men who raped that fourteen year old Vietnamese girl and even killed civilians in My Lai got away with their crimes. But Bush will not allow the soldiers who raped and murdered the Iraqi girl to get away with their sins.

The US is trying those guilty of such crimes. No consciensious human condones it. Those men are criminals. But the American troops who have fought and died there have done more to relieve Iraq from "daily terrorism" than anyone else in the modern history of Iraq.

Do you forget - Saddam's sons and soldiers were raping and murdering on a daily basis.

Do you forget - The "cleansing" of the parliment when Saddam took control

Do you forget - torture chambers in the hand of a dictator with no accountability to his people.

Do you forget - the Iraqi soccer team members tortured for letting down their country (losing a game).

Do you forget - the hundreds of people gathering outside of prisons captured by American soldiers looking for their loved ones that they thought were inside (and how few were ever found)

Genocide of the Kurds (including children), Missiles launched at non-combatant countries, Death squads, Etc., Etc., Etc.

American (and other nationalities of) Men and women dying in a foreign country to end murder and rape that took place on monumental levels, and you have the nerve to characterize the sacrafice of all of these brave people as criminals for the acts of a few?

Sgt Cech, well said.

I have seen videos of what Iraqi people have done to a hungry little boy for stealing a loaf of bread. I do not agree with or support war. And I do not support Bush and his cronies. BUT, I do support our troops. And in America all are innocent until proven guilty under a fair court of law, not street justice like your country. Iraqi citizens have raped and murder thousands of your own people and thats not even counting all the murders you all have done in other countriies. So get a clue, don't start something you can't finish. And the final justice is when you have to meet your God. Because no matter what name you give him, he is still God and he will be your final judge and jury.

Most of these answers have nothing to do with the crime the Troops have committed. George Bush has nothing to do with the 5 soldiers that killed/raped the Iraqis. These soldiers should be punished, and I'm sure that they will be. These few Americans put us all to shame, but acting like this is how most of our troops are, is insulting to the good men and women that are fighting for your freedoms.

How do we stop this insanity? We can't now. We had a ton of gun toting rednecks that wanted to march over there without a plan to get us out. It was a horrible idea then and it's a horrible idea now. I only hope that Americans can see the republicans, especially Bush and his administration, for what they really are. They are greedy businessmen out to make a buck on the lives of Iraqis and Americans and British.

If these allegations should be shown to be true, these individuals deserve nothing less than the full measure of the UCMJ. This however is a mere drop in the bucket to what the islamic terrorists do to their enemies. I was involved in Desert Shield/Storm, and have seen the horrific things these barbarians do. If you want to bash America and Her servicemen, of which I am one, remember I fought for your right to put up your anti-American sentiments here.

Gee, so much for "innocent until proven guilty." That is, unless the rule only applies to America bashing, leftward leaning, unhinged liberals, and not to US Troops who are protecting your rear end from those who attacked US first. Soldiers are human just like anyone else and therefore will make many of the same mistakes and use poor judgement just like the rest of the general public. However, this is separate from politics or the war itself.

What is important here is that the government is recognizing the problems and the soldiers are being held accountable for their crimes, as they should be.

Edit: Personally, I think you should vote for who you think is the best candidate, regardless of political party (or lack thereof).
