that people automatically assume that because we are Christian, we are totally closed off to science. I have read too many times in here where people lash out at Christians because they do not believe in evolution... but wait... I'm Christian, and I completely believe in evolution as to what science has given us so far on the theory.

Any thoughts?

(Also, we all need to remember that evolution is a THEORY, it has not been fully proven...)

I've got a feeling that I'm going to push some buttons with this... but it just had to be said!!

I would like to add that I believe in Creationism and Evolution both. I believe that God could have made us however he wanted to make us in whatever way he wanted. Everyone has a little different take on the Bible. Thats just mine. My heart is in the right place just for those of you, Christian or otherwise, think differently.

I'm the same way you are. There are a lot of fanatics that are extreme one way or the other. People that stand in the middle ground like you and me are few and far between. And go ahead and push buttons, make people think, if anything that will make them get in touch with what they believe and why. Doing that may actually change someone's perception and in effect change a number of different things in this world.

These science-laden histrionics are from people who haven't done their research into Christians. I agree with you that I agree with a lot of what the THEORY of evolution presents, and then sometimes it's so much theory and so little fact, as presented on the History Channel, and the National Geographic Channel, that I can't puke for laughing so hard. But you're right. People "in-the-know", who are actually just anti-Christians, make an *** of themselves by ASSuming that Christians don't believe in science. I believe in some, and not in some others. I like some, and I think some other stinks. I take God over science any day though, so "scientists" have a lot to prove before they can get my support. God Bless you. Stick with Him. He can whoop a "scientist" hands down.

There are many christians that believe in evelution to a point. It all depends on if you take the bible as being litteral, or intererative. I believe that through evolution, he have gradually changed. Science has proven this to some extent. To what extent is still a theory. I am also Christian, and believe that eventually, everything had to start from somewhere.

I think you're absolutely right! There are Scientologists, Mormons, and those that believe in "Creative Design"... so I guess those are "fine examples"...

Also, just as you assert that evolution hasn't been fully proven, you must recognize the fact that not everyone believes that the existence of "god" or an afterlife has been proven outside the context of a book.

Yes, consider a few buttons pushed.

I'm with you! I'm a Christian, and I believe in some parts of the THEORY of evolution, just not the whole thing. For example, I believe in dinosaurs, I just don't believe in the millions of years ago part of it. (Look up Behemoth and Leviathan in your Bibles--the descriptions don't sound like any hippo or crocodile that I've ever heard of!!) When God created Adam and Eve, they weren't babies, but adults. If God can give the first humans the appearance of age, then He can make a 3000 year old artifact look millions of years old.

I'm a Christian. I do NOT believe in the so-called "big bang THEORY." It's just a theory. It is NOT supported and proven with real things. What if all those pictures were just created by a bunch of men to make complete fools of us? They just want to put us down for our faith. Earth-Science is unrealistic. I believe God created the Earth. I have trust and faith in Jesus Christ. God Bless.

We are definitely not closed off to science but the world likes to push evolution down our throats.

This is a website that has a lot of creation scientist working easily disproving evolution.

www.answersingenesis.org

This site should definitely help you defend your stand on Creation.

I think you need to learn how to read if you think the Bible supports evolution at all .

Actually you will be pushing some Christian buttons. There are those who say you cannot believe in both. Just like that bumper sticker that says "You can't be Catholic and Pro-Choice.".
