What kind of pop song could be made about the environment and ecology that would be a hit, generate interest and be used as a popular ring tone?

Any suggestions for lyrics?, score?, who to suggest it to for production? Where or how the profits might be used?

I'm thinking percussion's, violins and piano concerto that sounds very pop yet very global. Remember the School House Rock jingles of the 80's? Something on those lines. The vocals should consist of either an all star cast, children of all ethnic backrounds or famous animal cartoon characters.

Proceeds should be used to strengthen awareness regarding the effects of global warming and what we can do to lessen the effects on humans, animals and the environment, also to educate us on how to prepare for the inevitable consequences.

There have been a few of them. John Anderson's Seminole Wind comes to mind, as does Big Yellow Taxi. There was also a great one in the musical Paint Your Wagon, "They civilize left, they civilize right, 'till nothing is left, 'till nothing is right..."

Generally, issue songs have to be fairly vague or else they fade into obscurity like boy bands and teenybopper divas.

I think Pink Floyd was one of the best groups at getting important social issues into really good music, but how many people call the radio station and request tracks from Final Cut or Obscured by Clouds?

Shall I just go ahead and sing it too? How 'bout I market the thing as well?

Are you even a part of this project any more, Rodney? Do you even care what I've been going through turning your idea into the Pop Song to Save the World? PSPW is very time consuming.

I just wish you would pitch in occasionally. And would it kill you to compliment me? Tell me my hair looks nice, or my clothes are pretty. Something. Anything, Rodney!

There are already efforts to do that...
When I was in grade school they would tell us about a competition that we could enter, it was we had to sing/perform something that was on the subject of Environmental issues...
It's like those contests where you sing about Staying in School, or Staying Drug Free...
But if you WIN you get it recorded aint that COOL?!?
So they technically have plenty of them, that and I'm pritty sure mainstream artists have done their share in singing/entertaining folks while educating them on Environmental Issues ...
;-)

Gotta tell you, unless your song starts off with "Global warming is a hoax/sit back execs and laugh at the joke/too many whales filling the seas/somebody hunt them, eat them please" I'm not going to be listening.
