Is there such a thing? If not I wonder if one could be produced. Perhaps there would be a more appropriate title that would attract the attention of consumers and lend well to marketing.

Do you guys remeber the original SimCity?
I think that dealt with the environment... Kinda. Like if you built a couple powerplants, you couldn't put houses right next to them otherwise people wouldn't want to live there. I think that speaks of how people (at least on some level) are aware that pollution is harmful for us (and the planet).
Maybe someone should make a new version... and no, not one with people or rollercoasters. But where you still have to manage and maintain a city while considering other factors.
The main factor should be the ecosystem. Things to consider: recycling, waste management, parks, energy alternatives. And you could see the effects on the city. Like if you have a thriving busy city but your screen can go hazy if you don't pay attention to emissions. Or if you rely too much on gas, you can go to war. =P And yes, you can buy new wind-energy plants, but you have to still keep your budget in mind.
I dunno. Just a thought of mine. =)

Well it sounds like FUN!
Instead of hording the money LOL, maybe the games objective could be to hord the natural resources (as in keep them natrual, and polution free)...
Like buying Land and Patches of Rain Forests and buying Protected Lands to show of to Turists and Scientists alike...
