It seems that most of the people who have attempted to answer your question are completely ignorant about immigration to the UK - i'm sure that they think it is really easy!

There are several ways to get a UK Visa:
Apply as a student but you have to prove that you can financially support yourself as well as have at least £10000 in the bank, a confirmation letter from your college/university.
Get married, but again your partner has to prove that they get little or no government help with regards to benefits and housing.

It is a long process - my Tunisian fiance has been turned down 3 times for a visitors visa but thankfully we are getting married in March which may move the visa process a little quicker.

The the girl who posted "learn to speak English better" - that is the most ignorant statement I have ever heard - my fiance speaks fantastic English but his written english is not as good - why should that mean he cannot come to my country!?

So if you can't come to England how did you meet him? And if you actually get here, how will you find a job and support yourself when your English is so appalling? Learn to speak our language first, and then when / if you get here we won't be filling in housing benefit forms for you via the interpreter. And I am not prejudiced against people from other countries, I have Romanian in- laws in my family, and living over here in England. He speaks excellent English, has a university degree and an extremely good job. If you want to come here you must work for it and have something to offer this country. And if you are so committed to each other, why can he not come to live with you?

Just turn up - they let everyone else in. Join the crowd. Your boyfriend is probably one of the few English people still living in England.
With your standard of English you could probably get a job teaching in a state secondary school. Good Luck!

Unfortunately, governments are not concerned with fair, only with paperwork and rules. Keep trying to see what can improve your chances of success. Good luck!

I'm not sure "fair" comes into it, unfortunately. But the way the British Government is going, no, it probably isn't fair.

I understand completly.. But you have to prove that you dont just want to get into Britain..

Get your boyfriend to stay with you in Romania for a while - It'll show both of you where things will go...
