We don't have a white castle in South Carolina :( Is that the place with the little hamburgers or am I thinking of something else????

It's kind of like comparing apples to oranges. They seem like two different things, as they are so different. A McDonalds burger is a regular old hamburger, but a White Castle burger is more of a special treat. If you are eating just to get full, McDonald's will fill you up. But a WC burger has so much more flavor, and practically melt in your mouth. I think I need to head out to White Castle now!!

White Castle: Opened it's first small restaurant on Main Street in Springfield, MA in the mid 1940s. My dad and i ate lunch there every day. At the time, it was open 24/7 and the first of it's kind to do so in that area of the country.
There were 10 stools at the counter. Folks were lined up 5 to 10 deep behind each stool waiting for the current occupant to vacate.
Hamburgers were small but absolutely delicious. We would eat 4 or 5 at one sitting at a cost of 15 cents each. Coffee was free with an order of 3 or more. Cokes were 5 cents. A milkshake was 15 cents.
What a wonderful time that was.

white castles are the best. i grew up in kentucky but have spent the last 15 years in california where there aren't any white castle locations. you can buy them frozen in the grocery store but they aren't as good as buying them fresh(plus they don't come with pickles). you should have seen the airport screeners face when my carry-on went through x-ray with 20 white castles in it. lol
