Because the chess game will not make the problem go away, there will have to be too many "chess challenges" and no one will be happy until a good old fashion war begins. Give war a chance!

Unfortunately, war is not like a game of chess. War is ugly, it is not meant to be glamourous as Hollywood would like to make you think. War is just that, it is war with other human beings. Both sides are fighting for what they believe to be a just cause and they have signed on to battle for the cause at the risk of injury or death. It is inevitable that people will die because you are in combat with the enemy and the intention is to hurt more of theirs than they can hurt yours. It's not a pretty picture, but sometimes it takes a war to get things resolved.

The truth is there is no such thing as war. The word was invented to justify theft. If I, as an individual, beat you to a pulp and siphon the gas from your car, while telling every body you threatened to kill my family in a drive by. I am a thief making up an excuse. multiply that by 2 countries, and you have George Bush. Still a petty thief. Just a bigger excuse. borders and boundaries are all about murder and theft, and they always will be. If you have it and I want it. I will ask for it. if you don't give it to me I will take it. If I can't take it I will destroy it so no one has it. This is the way all country's think. and will always be the way country's think. just like bully's in a school yard. because as we all know (say it with me kids) POWER CORRUPTS, ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY...

1) War has gone on since the beginning of time.
2) Male ego has nothing to do with it. (sorry i served for your freedom to say stupid comments like that).
3) Look at the animal kingdom, they kill each other all the time. Obviously its a part of nature to kill for teritory. No, its not always the best solution and yes people die in war, we didn't ***** and moan about joining the fight in WWI or WWII but now we have alot more tree hugging hippies who want to relive the 60's and protest if someone farts and say "its killing the o-zone layer".

Would everyone accept the outcome if bin Laden or one of those characters beat Bush in a game of chess and then said we all had to convert to Islam and follow sharia law?

Wars are made to conquer territory; to do so and police the conquered public into submission is by means of force.

The barbaric rule of War, created from the very first one ever is simply the side with the fewest number of soldiers can be dominated and LOSES the battle.

In War, the "fewest" number of soldiers are the dead ones.

Sadly, I don't think there is an answer for that....

I certainly don't understand why with such a fragile existence, people and governments would be willing to sacrifice people for a bit of land or pride. I think history has proven that war does not work, after all if it did we wouldn't have it after the first one.

I think there is just something lacking from people in power that allows them to send people they don't know somewhere they've never been to die or kill for something they don't understand. But that's just me!

See that's thinking right there. You would think that after centuries of fighting people would come up with a more diplomatic way of resolving their differences. It would do the world good if they stopped the killing and just learned how to talk to each other without resorting to violence. Oh to live in that world would be nice.

That's because people do not want to cooperate and I guess the only answer to that is to kill them when your in a war of course. I mean the opponent not your Alli.

If that were to happen, then wars would serve no useful evolutionary purpose. You'd have to strike down one of the 4 horsemen of the apacolypse....so to speak.
