Umm... a democracy (as you can see in this country) only works if the representatives that you vote for do what the majority wants. They can vote to change something, but if their representative does not vote that way, they are screwed, plus alot of the coruption is on the lower levels. Like local government mayors and governors are wasting the money that the federal government has earmarked for the people of those towns. Keeping most for themselves and giving very little to the people. Most reps claim that they will help the people when they are candidates, but unless they are rich to start with they probably have rich "friends" or people from their party that lend them money for their campaign. Once you are in office they want to collect.

Let me say first that most of the Mexicanos I have run into seem to be pretty, darned nice folks. Most not all.
One thing many seem to have in common though, that is troubling is; they don't have much respect or care about law and rder. Nor do they particularly care about education.
They do like sex beyond what seems balanced to me personally but what the hey! When they make babies (the natural consequence of liking sex), they seem to be unusually good attendant Fathers and Mothers. Good family people.
Given the fact that many, many of the illegal immigrants are Mexicanos, that they are not so law abiding and that they reproduce beyond what seems prudent in an otherwise too heavily populated world, I am VERY concerning about letting this kind of individual in to the US willy nilly without control.
I don't get the feeling the Mexicans really know or care about politics unless it is for them to be out in public demanding that the government give them something. Either their government ...or ours. These good folks come from a somewhat socialistic democracy and it should not surprise us when they come here and start demanding from us and our government. It is what they know in Mexico. It is yet another reason to limit their entry to legal status only.
Send the illegals home and manage the influx properly so we aren't swamped with demanding, peons (that are admittedly good laborers) that breed in large numbers and don't understand living in a society that professes law and order and DEMOCRACY. The point of this diatribe is: Our Democracy is quite different from what their Democracy is.

If they are all corupt you really don't have a choice. You either vote or abstain. Mexican voting power is non-existant when they find ways to cheat, an example, you can easily get registered in another county and vote there if the opposition is high. Also buyng people's votes is easily done. If there is indication that a party is ahead at the ballot, they go out and offer money to people to vote for their party. This is one reason Mexico needs to keep its people in poverty, its a way to obain power. Its a vicious cycle and looks like a dead end for this country.

Well, 'corrupt' kind of says it all in one word, you can call your system of government a chicken taco pizza with maraschino cherries and a side of horse apples, that doesn't change the fact that the BigBuxx guys run it, and you'll do wise to get out of their way, 'citizen'...and a good hard look at mexico then prompts a good hard look at what we got, and you see there's too much back-door crap going on for any of it to be healthy, or even halfway honest anymore...reforms' good for mexico, it's good for america, get things back on an even keel and have the books open to the public, it's the best way. The claim to corrupt government doesn't really cut mustard. We have a lot of corruption in our own-The people don't care enough to speak out if there is an easier way to their dissatisfaction. We have permitted that easier way for now-but it is changing.

Maybe in a perfect world....Elections are bought and paid for all over the world....Mexicans have no real say in elections. Its like here, we only get two choices. So we vote for the lesser of two evils...
