Make the most of the time.
Personally I can't remember when I last had an hour that someone else didn't lay claim to.
The idea of a whole week is just heavenly.
You are bound to miss him but I'm afraid he will be having too good a time with his Dad to miss you.
Try to get out & make some new friends who do not necessarily have children. There is life after kids.

You need to do what I did. First get yourself busy doing a yard or house cleaning project that you couldn' t do while your "baby" was home. First go get your supplies needed for your project from the store. Also at the store pick up some picture postcards that your son would like. At least once a week (or whenever you feel you need to tell him something) starting the day that your son left write a simple little note to him telling him of your project. You use the postcards to keep him updated to the progress of your projects. This way when he comes back home he will feel like he was with you while you worked on your project . You will feel it too !

I'm assuming this is a divorce type situation. I go through the same thing w/ my 2 kids every year. I find consolation in knowing they love their dad (no matter what I feel for him) and look forward to this time they get to have with him. Their happiness makes me happy. think about it.

The summer will go by so quickly your son will be back before you know it.
You should go hang out w/ some friends and go out to dinner w/ them or go see a good movie.
Or you can hang out at the pool or the beach and read a good book.

I know what you mean I miss my son when he's not
around (he's 8)
just think of how much your son needs his Dad in his
life & how happy he will be when he gets home
go & do things that you can't do when he's w/ you
(get your hair done, go shopping, go to a movie ect....)

Well, you should try to do stuff that you like. IF you do something fun it will go by fast and then you will see him again :)
