What do you call a person that goes into your home and takes care of your animals when you are on vacation or at work??

How much do they make? Where can I find information on that type of job?

Also where can I look for employees for that type of job?

The term I know of is Puppy or Dog Sitter.
What they make will depend on where you live as just like the cost of living varies so will the wage for providing these services. Also if you have a youngster or a more professional person doing the care taking will affect the fee. I'd estimate that they might charge anywhere from $10- $30 a day and in some cities I'm sure even more, depending on what you require for your dog's well being. If giving medication, preparing special diets are involved the sitter can ask for more.
A good place to start looking, is inquiring at your local vet's office. Often times the vet technicians that assist the vet will do this type of work, or have friends that do. Also most cities have free newspapers that have pet news and ads at the pet food and supply stores. These usually have many listings of people that do this type of work.

Animal care technician is a popular term, though many people who work in other's homes stick to "pet sitter" because then it's obvious what they do.
I work in a kennel and earn about $10.50 an hour. Home-sitters charge more for the extra service, but have more risk - the work must be 'found' and it may not be consistant.
If you want information about being an animal care tech in general, a good place to visit is your local humane society. They'll often let you volunteer too, so you can try the job before you make a comittment to starting a business of your own.

Dog sitters or walkers. Look in the phone book under pets or pet care. Go to the local pet store, look in the local paper, your vets office or word of mouth. I don't have any pets, but if you find any in the GA area that are willing to come walk my kids, let me know!!! Laughs and smiles from me to you. Seriously, I hope that you find what you need.

I thought I would be cute and try to maybe be a little funny. Everyone here is so mean and sometimes stupid.

They are usually Pet Sitters. All the ones I know, have basically opened their own business and run it from their homes. Check in your yellow pages under Kennels, as most will list an ad there as an alternative to having to kennel your dogs while you are away. Also, you may want to check with your local vets office.

A pet sitter.

I pay mine $30/day, which is ridiculously low, but I do things to help her out sometimes too.

Check with your Vet clinic. Some of the Techs at mine also do petsitting.
