The answer you need is on page 337 of your owner's manual. Add your Mercon fluid up to the crosshatches on the dipstick. When you check the dipstick, rememeber let the car sit for a few minutes after driving to let the fluids settle. Then get an old clean rag. Pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean with the rag, then replace it. A second later, pull the stick back out and check it. If the fluid is at or above the hashmarks, it's fine. If it's below, add one quart of Mercon at a time until it is within the safety limit.
If you are replacing the fluid altogether, well, I don't know how much fluid your van takes. I would buy six quarts of Mercon, drain the old, and start with putting only four quarts back in. Check the fluid as above, adding more if you need it.
